Low iron at 35 weeks, 9.4 consultant?

been advised i will need to see the consultant as my iron stores have gone down again to 9.4. Am 35 weeks pregnant and have an appointment for more bloods next week where they will send it off to check on stores or something.
Means i have to go the main hospital under a consultant to have my baby instead of the LED unit.
What will happen? bit worried. Will they have to induce me early or anything or have iron drip etc?
Advice pls

They'll probably do an iron infusion, its not bad, I had mine in 2 sessions which took 15 mins each time. It makes you feelbetter quite quickly. I wouldn't have thought they'd induce you. the danger of anemia in pg is that if you bleed when delivering baby it can be more dangerous for someone with healthy iron stores. So there wouldn't really be any advantage to them inducing you. Try not to worry!

Likewise, I wouldn't worry. They don't allow you in midwife-led units/birth centres if you have low iron because you need to be near to the right facilities should you bleed a lot. I'd see it as a bonus that a consultant is looking after you. Good luck with the birth

Well i have my consultants appointment next week - they told me to allow 2 hrs for the appointment and i may need a scan and to take my partner with me?
Is this standard stuff?
Also got my MW appointment on the Tuesday for more bloods to check my stores........
