I'm 40+4 and had a sweep done at 2.15 today midwife said my cervix was soft and favourable and quite short she also said I was 3cm dilated. I have been having a few tightenings for the past week or so and i lost what I think was abit of my plug a couple of days ago but since I've been home I've had a lot of discomfort and definitely lost some more of my plug which this time was blood tinged. So my question is any idea how long away from proper labour/birth am I?

Depends I think. At 4cm I was 3 hours away.

I was 40+12, sweep at 2.30pm, 3cm dilated.

Didnt really feel much until about 10.30pm. Dd2 was born at 3.35am.

Hopefully.

Your post reminded me so much of when I had dd. this was my little birth announcement. Hard to imagine she is nearly 2yo and terrorising me

Reminds me of having my dd too Smile

I had a sweep at 40+4 and was 2 cm (about 4pm). She arrived 6.35 the next morning. Good luck!
