Hi,

I have severe digestive issues which has worsened during pregnancy and I can't dare take iron supplements. I was wondering if anyone else has been in this situation and whether their GP or midwife gave them the option to go for iron transfusion?

do you just mean tablets or the liquid iron, that's supposedly quite gentle?

iron transfusion, what is that?
I couldn't have Pregnacare (tummy upsets) but I drank lots of Floradix, worked for me.

I had Iron injections in my last pregnancy which if I remember right is the next step after tablets. They did say if that didn't help it would be a blood transfusion which I really didn't want

Only prob with the injections was that it stains your skin from underneath so looked like I had massive bruises across the top of my bum.
