Hi, keep intending to join the due in sept thread but not got round to it yet! Shame my first post is a problem!

Will be 18 weeks on tues and been feeling slight movements daily since 15-16 weeks, not felt any movements since thurs now and am a bit concerned. I had some light bleeding and cramping at 16 weeks (think I had done too much, been house renovating!) but had a scan and was reassured all was ok.

Am i being neurotic and expecting too much from the bean?!

Is this your first baby?

I am pg with my second and have actually noted the fact I haven't really felt movement until 20 weeks.

Even now I miss the kicks unless I'm sat still waiting for them.

If your really worried give your midwife a call and get her to a have a listen in with the doppler.

Yes 2nd baby, ds is 5 years old. Feel a bit like I am stalking the midwife at the mo!!

I don't think you are being neurotic at all - I've only had one dd and didn't feel anything for ages, ring your midwife and have her check you out - once reassured try and get hold of something like this - \link{http://emothersonline.com/2006/01/pregnancy-bracelet/\its a baby kick counter}, someone else's idea but they may sell something like it at Kiddicare, Mothercare and places like that.

Can i crash the thread? Am 22 weeks and have been feeling lots of movement but haven't felt a thing since y'day evening. Am i too being paranoid? Booked in for a scan on Tues but just wanted someone elses point of view....
Third pg, last one ended in m/c at 17weeks so maybe i'm just overly anxious?

VeniVidiVickiQV · 02/04/2006 11:34

Snowboo - get yourself a sugary drink, drink up and lay down somewhere quiet for an hour. You should feel some movements within that time.

SnowBoo · 02/04/2006 11:36

Thanks. Will give it a try!

I thought after so many weeks you were ment to have no less than 10 movements in 24hrs? If VVV idea does not work i would go & be checked, its better to be safe than sorry in my opinion.

SnowBoo · 02/04/2006 11:40

He must've had a late night last night as he has just started kicking away!!!! Maybe he likes the sound of the keyboard....!

Thankyou for the advice. Feel a bit more relaxed now!

Aww bless glad everything is ok, its so reassuring when they kick isn't it Smile

Mary, I was like this - I had movement from about 16 weeks only very slight flutters and then from 18 weeks to now - nothing. I went to the hosp and got it checked and everything was fine though. Now im 20+6 and can feel slightly stronger flutters not very often but they are def there. If I was you I would def go and get the midwife to check for you as its so reassuring and they really do not mind. Good luck

GDG · 02/04/2006 13:25

I don't think you need to worry at this stage but if you are ever worried I'd just go and be monitored. I did this twice with ds2 - felt really silly but none of the midwives made me feel silly and reassured me it was OK to go in whenever I was worried, how ever often that was. Just go, don't stew.

Thanks all! Been out all day (thought it best to keep busy) and going to have a bath and go to bed now. Will ring midwife tomorrow i think.
