Im 12wks and as I was cooking dinner I suddenly started feeling really sick and cold. I then began feeling weak and dizzy so I sat down with a glass of water but knowing i was going to be sick i tried to make my way to the bathroom. As i was waking i got a cold sweat all over and my vision went black , my body went weak and i dropped to the ground and crawled the rest of the way. My vision came back after a few seconds and the rest of the symptoms eased fairly quickly after id been sick. Has anybody experienced this or know what it could be? I had my blood pressure taken today and it was fine so don't think its that.

Sounds terrifying, how are you now? Was talking to a friend today who is 20 weeks and she tells me she has had a couple of blackouts. She talked to her doc who said 'relatively common in pregnancy and you should be ok'. Not useful, I know, but apparently it does happen. I would ring mw or doc if I were you and just let them know.

Hope you're ok now sounds scary. Were you needing to eat maybe? That makes me quite shakey. Failing that maybe it was just a temporary drop in your bp. I went through a phase of dizziness but it seems to have calmed down completely now until I try and do a shop in asda, when twice I've nearly passed out. Pregnancy weirdness.

Get yourself checked out properly. Tell GP everything that happened. Almost certainly nothing to worry about but I had similar symptoms post partum due to hormones and was v serious. Take care.

I fainted a good few times while pregnant. Best to get yourself checked out -there was no explanation really for my episodes but they always checked blood pressure, urine etc.

I found eating regularly and drinking lots kind of helped.

Thank you for your replies. Im going to call the midwife today to let her know. My friend has suggested it could be a drop in blood sugar as similar had happened to her when pregnant. I felt perfectly fine afterwards and continued to make dinner etc so hopefully its not too serious!
