maternity wear - funeral (sorry!)

just wondered really, if anyone had any recommendations for maternity wear suitable for a funeral (bit of a miserable topic I realise, sorry about that). have looked at usual suspects - jojomamanbebe and er mothercare as well. i wanted a very plain black dress but of course it's that time of year, it's all party frocks with lace or sequins and whatnot which isn't appropriate. am 24 weeks - but fairly hefty 24 weeks (2nd preg) so v obviously preggers, in case is relevant. thanks in advance if you have any suggestions :)

I long sleeved black T-shirt and black maternity trousers would look fine. You should be able to get these from most places that do maternity clothes (try H&M). Don't know where to get a black dress from though, sorry.

I wore a black wrap dress from Seraphine (www.seraphine.com) to a funeral over the summer. You might check the website to see if there's anything appropriate.

Sorry for your loss.

I think other poster's suggestions sound ok.

Or what about a black wrap dress? Can be worn after, smart with heels for work (if you do), with boots at the weekend or dressed up with accessories for festive parties. It could also work as a breastfeeding outfit too (if you do).

Not sure if you have time to order online but I found a few:

Gap maternity have a good cowl neck jersey dress at the moment that comes in black - I have it in teal. It's about £30 but if you can get the VIP code that's running this week it's 30% off.

This dress from Toast is lovely. I think it would work fine with a 24-week bump.

I got a nice one from m+p in September, It's plain black, also designed for breastfeeding in after bump is born x x

Mamalicious a Scandinavian brand have long sleave black wrap dresses and stretchy black vest tops. The prices are like h&m so are pretty cheap.

What size are you? I have a spare black 3/4 sleeve jersey dress from Zara wrap around style but without the wrap IYSWIM - I wore it to my Grandmother's funeral when 28 weeks pregnant in March this year... I don't mind sending you it to wear if you'd rather not spend out just for the one occasion. It's a Zara Medium but I was easily a 12/14 when I got pregnant and at 28 weeks was LARGE. Because it's jersey I've worn it over the years as a size 10/12/14/16 and it's always looked good :) Let me know - would be happy to send it.
