Spotting - when to call Dr?

Hi, sorry this is a bit of a panicky post..

I'm 6 weeks (4+2?) after first round of ivf. so far have had no troubles or symptoms. just had a bit of spotting, bright red, no clots as far as i could see and not even that much.. Now i know spotting is common and even more so with ivf but can anyone tell me when i should tell me clinic/gp? Now? Or wait and call if it happens again/gets worse? No cramps or pain but it's my first pregnancy and it's taken so long so i'm kind of freaking out here..

I'd give them ring see what they say . they will probably just say keep an eye on it ect but I would ring just for peace of mind.... good luck

Thanks, I did call them and they just said monitor and call back if gets wore. I know it's normal but i'm so scared - I can't help crying. They asked whetehr it's a lot of blood but how am I meant to know when I have never had this before?

I've never bleed before while pregnant so i would panic aswell but I know it's quite common to spot . was it like the odd spots on tissue or was it covered ? I'd put a sanitary towel or panty liner on and just keep checking.... if you do keep seeing blood I'd get on to them again . try not to worry tho chances are everything's ok and your not cramping or in pain so thats good.

I had spotting both pgs early on and both times I was given a scan ASAP. I thought this was standard practice. Maybe the fact it's ivf means they aren't as worried. I'd keep phoning, could you phone early pregnancy clinic or antenatal clinic?
Both my pgs turned out fine, it is really common.

Most docs won't scan till around 8 weeks but you can have your bloods taken 2 days apart. The levels of HCG should be doubling so give an indication of how the pregnancy is progressing. I would go & see your gp ASAP and push for a blood test/early scan.
Please stay positive. This happened to me around the same time as you and my little boy is now 6 months old
