Just checking as it is 5 and 1/2 years since I was last pregnant and I now live in Spain where they eat everything. Just wanted to check Uk guidelines as I had a faint Bfp today!

Thankyou! God thats half the Spanish diet, I dont think prawns were on the list last time I was preggers.

i ate prawns last time, though the thought of eating them at the moment makes me want to heave

I've been eating prawns throughout cos department of food says it's only uncooked seafood you need to avoid. Cooked prawns carry same risk of salmonella as if you weren't pregnant - just best to make sure you get them from a tapas bar/shop you trust! As always, it's about taking informed risks.

the bit at the bottom of the page that gives all the things you CAN eat says this about prawns:

Shellfish, including prawns – as long as they are part of a hot meal and have been properly cooked
