3/5 is now 2/5......Is that up or down??

Someone on here did explain the whole 3/5 thing to me last week but I still don't get it!! It's now changed to 2/5... does that mean the baby has moved back up or dropped down more? And if it has dropped down more does it mean it's practically hanging out??

Think it means dropped down, although it is a bit backward!!!!

Depends zephyrcat - some mw say 3/5 engaged, which means 3/5 of the head is in the pelvis, so 2/5 engaged would be going backwards. BUT some mw say 3/5 palpable, which means 3/5 of the head is OUTSIDE the pelvis, so 2/5 palpable would be going down into the pelvis.

When she felt the head she did sort of sound surprised and say "Ooh it really is right down isn't it?!" but I didn't read what she'd written until I left.
