20wk scan very small baby - am worried

Just that really.
Had 20 wk scan today for 4th baby.
Below 10th ptl for all measurements and below 5th for femur length and abdominal circumference. Sonographer said she thought if more likely just a small baby but am seeing consultant for more in detailed scan on Monday. She said she thought it unlikely dwarfism but have made the mistake of googling....
Not really asking anything but hoping maybe others here can give some reassurance??
All my 3 boys were average for all measurements but shorter legs so am just hoping it is either wrong dates (only stopped bf

I have no experience myself but my sister-in-law was repeatedly told that my nephew was measuring very small during her pregnancy. He was born an average weight and is a strapping 4 year old now. I hope the meeting with your consultant goes well on Monday! x

Not much advice but I was told at about 25 weeks that baby was measuring small, it started with a midwife saying my bump looked too small and then I had to see a consultant and have additional scans. I was told continually baby was small until 37/38 weeks when they said they wanted to induce me ASAP as they wanted to be prepared for a small baby and they could do that better if I was induced apparently.

Anyway I went ahead and was induced and my DD was born at 6lb 11oz. So all that worry for nothing really as she was fine and perfectly healthy.

Try not to worry, the consultant will hopefully be able to tell you more and reassure you when you see him

Also, ds1 from 20wks measured on 9th centile with short femurs, he was born v healthy 6lbs, now a leggy, average sized 7yo. Definitely no need to panic over

My DS was off the bottom of the chart re all his long-bone measurements at 20wk scan. We were monitored a lot, he had another soft marker for congenital problems.
He is now almost 3 and perfect, but still petite (2n centile). I am fairly short but DH is v tall, so a bit unexpected- but that's just the way it goes. IIRC the fact that your abdominal measurement is a bit low means it's less likely to be something like dwarfism, ie your baby is small but all in proportion. So they are probably just small cos that's the way they are meant to be, but they're likely to also check that theres nothing restricting the baby's growth- ie that blood flow through placenta etc is good.

Impossible I know but try not to worry- most of the time everything is fine, they are just being cautious

At our 20 wk scan we where also told that baby was small Head and Abdominal circumference below 9th centile,

Femur below the bottom line (off the chart)

We went up hell and back being told all sorts of information, (they tried to push us in to having an amnio but we refused)

Had a scan at 22wks still measured the same,
Another one at 28wks again the same measurements,

Had one last wk 32 wks, suddenly he is between the 20-30 percentile.
Although his femur is still off the chart, it's following its own curvature perfectly,
And all the things we where worried about we have been told are no longer a concern!!

I am do glad that we stood our ground and refused the amnio test,
I have another scan in 3 wks time 36 wks,
But I am now looking forward to rather than worrying about it!

DS1 was born weighing 7lb, and is average height and weight,
I am 5" DH is 5.7"
Non of us Have long legs...

I was told all sorts of horror stories about my ds at 20wks. One being he was small and not in proportion. I went on to have growth scans every two weeks, by 34 wks he was measured as normal size. He was born at 9lbs 5oz and believe me their is nothing wrong with him. Except he keeps growing and we have to keep buying him bigger clothes

Try not to worry too much, it doesn't have to mean anything but the hospitals tell you everything they find to cover their back.
