In my pathetic moanings....
DS was awake for 4 hours over night. I've had 3 hours sleep. That is all

I'm 16wks preg with a 19 month old. Working FT and DH needs to commute 2 days a week so need to do whole morning and evening thing on my own plus work, plus drop off and collect from nursery on foot (5mile walk a day).
Have spent a day staring at my PC trying to motivate myself to complete reports I need to write but am finding it hard to stay awake. I day dream about naps and spa treatments......

How am I going to do the above with 2??? ;)

RunningKatie · 25/10/2012 18:39

40 weeks today, DD has decided to reduce her naps this week to a mere 40mins so I barely have time to flop on the sofa before she's awake again. Sad

DH's parents are coming over tomorrow so I can go to the midwife, he's asked them to ensure I do get a rest at lunchtime which they were a bit sniffy about. We moved in August, and I really appreciate all the help they've given us but sometimes it gets a bit much.

blackcurrants · 26/10/2012 21:21

oh Katie doesn't DD realise those naps are sacred time?

I'm starting to really enjoy a middle-of-the-day nap now... I can't imagine what I'll do when DS stops his!

MadamGazelleIsMyMum · 27/10/2012 13:45

Another one here whose toddler is addicted to tv, and no real discouragement from me Blush. And I can't help but think it will only be worse when the baby is actually here, and we'll just have "Peppi" on repeat all day.

38+1 today and less than a week until my ELCS. Fortunately today is the last day i am on my own looking after DD, so when DH is around she gets a bit more activity and stimulation.

cakesonatrain · 27/10/2012 17:40

DH announced the other day that, depending on when the baby is born (in relation to a course he's running), he might not be able to take his paternity leave straight away.
So that'll be me, a brand new newborn and a 19 month old all by myself. Ace.
He doesn't get home from work til after DS's bedtime.
Why did I want another baby?

PickledFanjoCat · 27/10/2012 18:06

God that's harsh.

I think the first few weeks are ok as your hormones help you through.

You may need help more later... I just saw a fb status from a friend in our positions who had her baby a month or so ago and it just says " I am broken...."

cakesonatrain · 27/10/2012 18:32

Hmm, if this time is anything like last time I will be a weepy mess, incapable of forming proper sentences. Think I could do with a husband to help me make sense of it all for a bit!

PseudoBadger · 27/10/2012 19:09

Oh no Pickled there's a vote of confidence from your friend

Oh Cakes, that's not good. DH is going away for one day in November and then his first trip abroad is December for 4 days so I'm already dreading that. It's the main reason we moved, he used to be away 3 weeks out of 4 which was a nightmare at times. Thankfully this new job isn't quite panning out like we thought it would and he's around more than we expected.

I saw the MW yesterday, she reckons the bump is only going to be a 7lb-er but is back-to-back so I'm hanging over the gym ball every evening. Sweep booked for this Thursday.

cakesonatrain · 27/10/2012 19:59

7lb-er sounds good, RunningKatie :)
And back-to-back ain't always so bad. DS (who was the right way around when I saw the midwife the day before he was born) was back-to-back when I was about 8cm dilated. Pretty straightforward labour, gas&air did me fine.

Can anyone come and give you a hand while DH is away? Mine has his brother's stag do at the end of March (when dc2 will be ~4wks old), and I've already told my mum she's coming to visit that weekend!

LookAtHerGo · 29/10/2012 08:24

It's all a bit much for me this morning. Been fighting back the tears all morning so far. I'm just so so tired and no let up. And I'm only 25 weeks tomorrow so ages yet. How the heck I'll get through the next 12-13 weeks.

I mean I know I will, but I just want a rest.

PseudoBadger · 29/10/2012 09:06

Oh dear LookAtHerGo :( It really makes you realise how nice it is in the first pregnancy just to be able to do nothing (if you want) and to think about yourself.
Poor DS has a horrible cough and has slept on me upright all night. That was fun...

LookAtHerGo · 29/10/2012 12:13

Thanks psuedobadger well my DD was showing many tired signs so I took her through and had a lie down with her while she slept Grin that helped greatly. Yes I do frequently think of the ease of resting during my first pg. Could do what I wanted when I wasn't working! Sorry to hear you had a rough night. Sad

LookAtHerGo · 29/10/2012 12:14

Oh and I've spelt you name wrong. I'll blame the pg for that Wink

Skoggy · 29/10/2012 12:21

Thought I'd hop on this thread Grin
I'm 39wks+2 with a 16mo DD. My feet feel like I'm walking on bubbles, sooooo swollen but I have to admit, she has been fantastic (most of the time). Picking things up for Mummy etc.
Can't wait for DD2 to put in an appearance. I'm fed up with being pregnant now lol.

RunningKatie · 29/10/2012 19:35

Still pregnant, 4 days overdue now, the clocks change has been a killer for DD. She woke up at 5.45am today, so was tetchy as anything come 10am. Sad

cakes, I can get the parents-in-law to come up and give me a hand when DH goes away but they do tend to indulge DD rather a lot so it's swings and roundabouts as to whether it's a good idea. Unfortunately my Mum's out of action with being poorly so she can't help. Still, it'll get easier in 6 months won't it? Everyone tells me so! Grin

Bless you Lookathergo, can your DP help out and let you get some rest? I try to go and hide in the bath after I've had my tea at least once a week, and then DH brings DD up for her bath 15 mins later. It makes all the difference just having a bit of head space.

debbie1412 · 29/10/2012 20:57

Hello im 39+5 my DS is 2.2yr over the last month he has turned into Damien. Full blown tantrums, smacking me, waking in the night refusing to go back down. Demanding all foods I don't want him eating. Stopped eating fruit and veg and many of pre loved meals. I'm actually walking on egg shells around him and panicking about how il tend to a baby if he's kicking off. Terrible 2s really are terrible. Oh and cherry on top he's not taking his afternoon nap either.
I'm not sure what the next few months will bring or even the next year but I'm going to try to put a positive spin on it. I love him dearly it's not his fault he's 2. Everything he's doing is text book. Their will be good days, bad days and prob days so bad il hit the gin. But it will pass.........it will pass. #hopefully x

PickledFanjoCat · 29/10/2012 21:34

Ds is doing that now at 19 mo. let's hope it's the 2s early.

Little buggers x

cakesonatrain · 29/10/2012 21:56

I am lucky that DS will have a good long nap if we're in the house, so on the 2+ days a week when it's just me and him I often have a snooze too! Trying to make the most of it while I can :)

cheeseandmushroomghostie · 29/10/2012 22:30

I am exhausted. To the point where I could just weep all day long. That is all Blush

PickledFanjoCat · 29/10/2012 22:36

Gets better after 12 wks toastie!

Keep the faith!

PickledFanjoCat · 29/10/2012 22:37

Ds is hit and miss with naps. There is not much worse than slipping into bed just as he starts screeching!!

cheeseandmushroomghostie · 29/10/2012 23:04

Am 14plus 3! Waiting for this infamous second trimester energy boost to kick in..... Would also be nice to eat something other than toast or cereal. Toddler is not being too bad to be honest....now he is over the d&v......

Moan moan moan! But I haven't told anyone in rl yet, apart from DH obvs, so you lot will have to bear the brunt of it a little while longer Grin

PickledFanjoCat · 30/10/2012 08:25

Oh Grin

It will come! Soon!

EddieIzzardIsOrange · 04/11/2012 11:20

Morning! How is everyone doing? Am 10 weeks today and still so damn knackered! Dont think I've seen past 10pm yet! Not helped by a manic half-term (am a youth worker)

Still the sickness seems to be easing a tiny bit (although had to do a dash to public loos to throw up yesterday and then apologise to everyone in there when I came out - nice!)
