Bleeding at 11 weeks...

I'm at 11+2 and when I went to the loo there was some dark bleeding. Not a lot but enough to panic me. I spoke to the prenatal doctor who said it wasn't anything to worry about unless there was acute pain. I was upset but left it. I then spoke to my mum who suggested putting a little tissue up (just a tiny bit into my vagina) and when I did a definite clot came out. Not bright red but not very dark brown either. I called prenatal back and they've booked me in for a scan tomorrow morning.

Now I know every situation is different but I hoped someone who's been there can help? Having looked I understand its a good sign that its not bright red and its certainly not gushing out of me. There's no stabbing pains, but there is a general ache that I've had the last few days. The midwife said this is normal but, coupled with this blood, I'm so upset.

I just don't know what I'm going to do with myself til the scan tomorrow. And what I'm going to do with myself if the news is bad. Sad

I know this sounds impossible but try not to worry. I bled from the very beginning of my pregnancy, in fact didn't know I was pregnant because of what I thought were periods... my beautiful perfect daughter arrived early but apart from this... she is 30 now and I still remember the dread of seeing blood. It may not mean anything, so just try to think positive until your scan. The ache may just be tension now. Try to breath calmly and think of a nice peaceful scene that makes you happy like a beach you have walked on.
Fingers crossed for you, please let us know how you got on.

I think the absence of cramps or severe pain is a very good sign.

I had massive bleeding just after 11 weeks. huge gush all over floor followed by what felt like heavy period for two days. They found a large haematoma at the scan which was the cause of it. Carried on bleeding but it turned to old brown blood for a further week.

Ds2 was born at 39+5 perfectly healthy.

So bleeding doesn't necessarily mean the worst!

Hi, I had exactly the same at 12 wks and had another small pinkish bleed in the week. Midwife told me to go to A&E where they referred me for a scan, turns out I have a low lying placenta that, at this stage, can detach and re-attach causing a small amount of bleeding.

If you are worried just go to A&E, I felt really daft but they were great and said I'd done the right thing and to do the same again if I was worried.

Baby is fine and they can't see any cause for concern but I've bought a Doppler to put my mind at rest!

Hope all is ok xx

Well I went for my scan today and all is well. They couldn't find a reason for it so assume its old blood.

Feel a LOT better now. Saw the scan which, at 11 weeks, is pretty clear. Little legs...little arms. Smile Feeling very reassured. Thank you everyone who responded.
