I am 7 weeks pregnant and need new clothes as mine are so tight. Is that normal?

I am so shocked as I have lost just over 2 stone since September and have not been pigging out at all.

My last pregnancy didn't really show until at least 5 months. My jeans are tight already and I am worried is that in any way normal, most of the people I know didn't show until about 4/5 months.

my friend is 9 weeks pregnant and says she is already bursting out of her old maternity clothes despite being the same weight. Bless! I think it is normal.
Congrats on the pregnancy btw

I had started to get uncomfortable in most normal clothes last time by 7 or 8 weeks, and that was in spite of losing loads of weight with severe nausea & vomiting.

Maybe you just didn't notice other people's early pregnancies cos they disguised them?

beartime · 27/03/2006 19:48

I couldn't fit in ANY of my clothes by 12 weeks - had been been outgrowing them one by one before that.

milward · 27/03/2006 19:53

I was the same - plus have always grown out of most of my maternity clothes at the end!! The slimmer you are the quicker you look preg imho!!

milward · 27/03/2006 19:55

just to add - everyone else who was preg looked fab & seemed to wear their usual clothes for ages - one mum just about fitted size 10 formes maternity trousers at the end of her preg!!! (fine as well of course) I was huge!!
best wishes xxx

olivo · 27/03/2006 20:01

I was the same - even now at 18 wks, have already out-grown my first pair of maternity jeansBlush

good luck x

Enid · 27/03/2006 20:02

I bloated out a lot at this stage (7-10 weeks)

things actually improved by about 12 weeks and I didnt feel so ginormous

MeggLeVache · 27/03/2006 20:53

Phew!
I think I am even starting to get those knowing looks but people are too nice to say, blimey look at that. Are you expecting? Aren't they?

Enid, that's exactly how I feel really bloated and water retentive.

Olivo, 18 weeks that is impressive!

Oh and I am not a skinny minnie am a size 16 and was losing weight to get back to a size 14 then this happened Grin So I thought I'd be able to disguise it for a while yet!

I was just logging on to ask everyone about the same thing. My stomach is huge - but I have been pigging out! I feel so tired, all I seem to want to do is eat. I'm only 11 weeks but today I spent the day in jogging bottoms ( not my usual attire, honest!) At this rate, I'm going to be enormous:(

helsi · 27/03/2006 21:04

I started needing them this time with my second at about 10 weeks. I was told that it can show quicker with subsequents pgs.

CarolinaMoon · 27/03/2006 21:06

Megg, I get those looks and I'm not even pg ShockWink.

MeggLeVache · 27/03/2006 21:07

CarolinaMoon! Well I think I had a few a couple of months ago too, so that makes us quits!

jamiesam · 27/03/2006 21:10

Oh, meg, thanks for this! I'm just over 9 weeks pg and am already bursting out of next size up clothes I bought to cope with Christmas excesses! Praying that I steady out a bit as Enid suggests or I'm going to be ginormous! (congrats by the way!)

MeggLeVache · 27/03/2006 21:13

You too Jamiesam, hope you're not feeling sick.

Well as I said before what a relief was starting to get jittery that I had a litter growing in there.

OP posts:
Miaou · 27/03/2006 21:13

I remember that with no. 2 I was wearing clothes at 4 months pg that were only just starting to fit me at 8 months pg with no. 1. If you follow.

Enid · 27/03/2006 21:14

I felt huge at 7 weeks

then felt qutie groovy and not too massive from 15 - 33weeks

now am VAST (35 weeks) with huge sticking out high bump

jamiesam · 27/03/2006 21:15

Hi Meg - yes, feeling just sick enough to reassure me that pg is going OK, but not sick enough to actually throw up. Sadly, remedy for me is to keep on eating - and that combined with my natural greed is a recipe for disaster!

MeggLeVache · 27/03/2006 21:20

Jaimesam - well so far no sickness but voracious hunger so that is bad news - really can't afford to put on much weight as I have an existing back problem which will be made worse by carrying too much!
Miaou I seem to be heading that way too, I guess everything has been stretched before so it makes sense that you would show a little earlier (just thought this was too early!)

Enid I can't believe how quickly your pregnancy has flown by, it only seems like yesterday you told me you were 16 weeks gone! Have you decided on the names yet, or is that the dds' job?
