Hi all
I'm 38+5 today and have noticed during the last few days that I'm drinking LOADS more than usual. I'm constantly thirsty. Drinking diluted orange juice and milk mainly, no coffee, tea, coke etc (which is also a big change for me). Is this a pregnancy thing or just me being weird

When are you next due to see midwife? It might be a good idea to have your urine dipped to check there is no glucose in it, just to rule out gestational diabetes. I'm 38+4 and have possibly been drinking a bit more than usual, but not to the same extent.

im 37 weeks and iv noticed this too, iv gone off tea. stopped drinking coffee coz i was getting headaches from the caffine i think. but i can easily drink a 4 pint of milk. plus several glasses of dilute and i still feel thirsty. tried drinking just water it didnt help i think it could be a craving but not totally sure Confused

This always happens to me about a day before I develop a stinking cold. It feels like no matter how much I drink I am always dehydrated.

Probably to do with the epic amounts of snot I produce.

No idea if it's something that happens in later pregnancy though, this is my first (26+1), but is my personal failsafe indicator that I will wake up with a cold the next day.

Probably not what you wanted to hear, haha!

i dont think mines diabetes i had the gtt done at 28 weeks coz of high bmi and came back ok unless it can change later on in pregnancy.

I was constantly thirsty towards the end of my pregnancy. Try to drink more water rather than juice/milk as it will rehydrate you better.

Mine wasn't anything untoward, MW told me its normal, but best to speak to your MW just to be on the safe side.
