I've had heartburn with each pregnancy (expecting #3) but this has to be the worst I've ever had. Gaviscon helps very temporarily, just wondering if there is anything else they can give you? I think I might have reflux as well as heartburn as sometimes I get a mouthful of acid Sad

Ranitidine is the only thing which works for me.

You can buy over the counter, or get a prescription from GP which gives a stronger dose. I use the stronger dose, once a day, and it works a treat.

thanks - I'm seeing my consultant tomorrow so will ask her if I could try that

TheDectective thanks for the advice. I got a prescription yesterday and took one tablet before my evening meal and I've not needed any Gaviscon since. What a difference. Just wish I'd asked sooner!
