13 weeks haematoma- hand holding and advice needed

Hi

I posted a few weeks ago about blood streaked discharge, ended up in maternity today with fresh red blood and after an internal exam and a abdo scan they have found a small area of seperation o placenta at the fundus or as was explained to me a haematoma.

Despite saying its likely it will reabsorb and baby is doing fine the next line is but we cant say which way it will go if it gets bigger baby could be comprimised which i guess means lost. Im so so scared and dont know what to do crying as i write this. I know ive to rest but im terrified.

Anyone else going through / been through same?

I had this at 11 weeks continued until around 22/3 weeks. At first I was told baby was doing fine and if the hematoma was less than half the size of the sac then the chances r greater that the baby will stay put but obviously they can't really say one way or the other.

Unfortunately there is nothing they can really tell u and aside from resting up there is nothing u can do either :( with my pregnancy baby continued to grow as normal til at 22 weeks they started to get concerned that baby wasn't growing as she should.

I was told that they suspected that the placenta wasn't functioning as well as it should ant the hematoma was proof of this ( this is what I was told)

Everything did work out in the end but there were some very very scary times. Haematoma did eventually reabsorb least I assumed it did but then it did get to
Point where I was told that it was the least of my worries so I did have other things going on too.

Please try not to over think it, truth is it could go either way and there's not a thing u could do that woulda been the cause of it all. It's just a nasty scary horrific complication no one ever tells u about :(

I have 3 DC and had bleeding episodes with all 3. They could not work out why with Dc 1 and 2 but with Dc 3 diagnosed haematoma. Haematoma reabsorbed with Dc 3. Seems v likely to have been the same problem with all 3. All 3 DC totally robust and healthy though all induced a week early as a precaution.

Try not to worry. Just make sure you go and get checked out at slightest sign of bleeding (even spotting) to put your mind at rest.

Thanks im trying to stay positive but soo gutted at the thought of losing this baby, i already have my ds n im trying to keep calm

I would say that the second u start feeling dizzy or light headed please speak to your midwife or gp. The blood loss can lead to anaemia which was missed until I was nearly five months gone and they finally gave me some iron tablets. Xx

I was in a&e virtually every week :( they usually sent me for a scan. I was admitted a couple of times as the bleeding got really heavy and I was passing large clots. then when I got to about 22 weeks the consultant referred me to the fetal
Medicine clinic. There I was scanned fortnightly to check the growth and the fluid levels as they were rather low apparently :( their theory was that the blood had been bringing out fluid with it.

For a few hours this morning, i will likely ring my antenatal clinic (all still being the same) and see what they say as i attend a specialist due to being diabetic also x

I wish I could be more help really but there is absolutely nothing they can do for u except keep a close eye on you. There is no surgery they can do and they can't physically give u anything to stop the bleeding.

I had my cervix checked to see if it was closed at every admission. Sometimes I would just stay home but slot of the time I had to go in given that the bleeding was really quite heavy.

There really is a good chance that yours will just stop and be reabsorbed. Not every case is as bad as mine. Although I appreciate mantbcan be worse too :(

If in any doubt just call your midwife or go to a&e if the bleeding becomes really heavy, u start passing clots or experience any pain.

Mostly still on wiping at mo tho bit darker with some brown, thanks so much for ur support, i know its bad but i wish i could sleep all my time away.

It's not bad at all x I was so anaemic all I wanted to do was sleep too. Only time ur not thinking about how the baby is :( if its brown blood it's old blood so that is better than the bright red stuff. But any change in bleeding please call your midwife x
