7 weeks pregnant with dc2, struggling through work and feel I could just collapse with exhaustion. Far worse than my first pregnancy! Any tips to get me going again!

I sympathise - it was how I realised that I was pg with dc2 as I suddenly had that bone crushing tiredness. The following may help:

Eat well - I read once that you should think "will this give me energy or take it away?" when deciding what to eat. Esp keep iron levels up, take spatone or equivalent to help.
Sleep a lot - sounds obvious but forget housework etc for a while. Get your dp to get up at the weekend for a while and if you can nap at all opportunities.
Do grocery shopping online.
How old is dc1?

Oh and congratulations! Grin

Thanks - DC1 is 20months, so when I'm at home with him not much chance of napping and when I'm at work not a hope! Not helped by the fact I keep being sick as well. I had a blissful pregnancy with DC1! However saying all that this is the 4th pregnancy since DC1 after 3 mcs so if I feel rubbish I'll deal with it as long as little one sticks on in there! Just need to function at work!

sleep more. pregnancy tiredness is different to normal tiredness - it always wins so you just need to give in to it as much as possible. i did find it a lot better for a few months in the second trimester.

When I was pregnant with DC2 I used to feel so ill with tiredness and sickness. As soon as DH came through the door, he took over with DS and I collasped into bed and slept for a couple of hours while he did all the bedtime stuff and cooked. Then woke up, ate dinner, watched a bit of TV and then back to bed. It's the only way I could have managed. Is that a possibility for you? Wishing you a healthy happy pregnancy!
