Thinking of becoming a Surrogate? (not using my egg)

I'm already a mother of 1, I just want to be able to help people have at least 1 child of their own if the mother isn't able to carry the baby.

What do you think?

I think it's an absolutely lovely thing to do. I have no experience

I think it's an absolutely lovely thing to do.

I have no experience of doing it so can't offer any really helpful advice but have sometimes wondered whether it's something I could do. I think I could do it, but worry I would underestimate the difficulty of not getting attached.

Would you do it for someone you know, or for a stranger? I can't decide which I think would be better.

Sorry double post, thought I'd caught that before it went...

I'm positively sure I will not get attached, as I have a daughter already and the thought of replacing her makes me feel ill!

Plus, it wouldn't be my egg. So I would know that it was not my child. Obviously I would love to hold the thing I helped bring into the world, but again that would have to be agreed by all parties.

I only ever wanted 1 child and hoped it would be a little girl. I would of probably tried for a girl, if my first was a boy!

I would want to do it for gay male couples or a male a-sexual (someone who wanted a child but didn't want the strain of having to have a relationship with a woman).

However, I do have a moral belief that people should really attempt to adopt and/or foster first. But I know this process can be lengthy and it is in fact easier to adopt outside the UK!

I sounded bitter when I said "thing" - I mean it in the nicest way possible!
