I went to the local market yesterday to buy my cheap nighties and knickers etc for my hospital bag and bought a big nightie for before the c-section and a smaller(ish) one for after. I also asked the lady for some quite big but cheap knickers that I could use to put in the pads etc and ones that would also pull over my scar etc after the operation.

Anyway, I ended up buyng some that were size....ready for it..........50/52 and they are really big.

I took them home and we both laughed our heads off at the fact that they will be far too big and will probably fall down around my ankles. he offered to go and exchange them for me some smaller ones.

Anyway this morning I thought I would make him laugh even more by putting a pair on and parading for him in my passion killer knickers.

I am devasted.........THEY FIT.........and if I do say so myself REALLY confortable.

don't - when you have that tender scar and trying to get going after the op comfy bloomers are the best Grin

yes I still have a couple of pairs in my knicker drawer too Grin

Skribble · 27/03/2006 00:33

I sent DH out about 3 times for big knickers, he kept coming back with normal ones that aren't quite big enough.

Its a bit like nice ham, you have to be specific so i told him to go to the granny shop and get the ones that go right up to your armpits. I think they were about 50/52 as well. Loved them, nothing worse than a hipsters g-string rubbing on your scar Shock.

size 50?

there is a size 50?

moondog · 27/03/2006 11:22

Blimey,do clothes really come that big??
Skribble, your bloke is more sussed than my friend's dh.
She went into labour unexpectedly and when her dh brought her stuff into hospital,he had packed her some g strings and panty liners.

SorenLorensen · 27/03/2006 11:23

You can make them into a hammock for the baby when it's born Grin

SoupDragon · 27/03/2006 11:24

They double up as a contraceptive device after the birth too.

amber5 · 27/03/2006 11:58

If you are having a c-section, believe me you will be pleased you've got them. Ordinary pants rest right where your scar is and are sooo uncomfortable. Give in to the embarrassment and go for comfort - you won't regret it!!!Grin
Hope all goes well...

I am going to fix some elastic rope to each side and hang over the door frame as a baby bouncer when I have done with them.

And yes Enid they do do a size 50! thanks for asking and yes they fit me lovely!! And also littlemisspiggy they are not baggy around my thighs so can we change to subject Grin

Or recycle the wire from a coathanger and turn them into a sun cabana for the beach. None of you will get lost with that for a landmark!

Skribble · 27/03/2006 18:00

No DH is not that sussed, I had already packed pairs of big knickers, which turned out to be too small, so I could say "BIGGER" than these. It took 3 attempts, Oh and No they were not baggy around the thigh in fact this was one place my knickers kept rubbing.

Just one question, why do they make paper knickers Blush. That is one thing that I just don't get. For the price yau can buy knickers for if they get messy just throw them out, FGS why do they expect us to be reduced to wearing paper disposible ones. STITCHES SCARS does this mean anything.
