Hi :) I'm 17 and 32 weeks pregnant, i've been feeling headachey and out of breath recently, i took my BP and it was 145/60 and my pulse was 105 beats per min.. Is this normal or high? Hmm I've been feeling ill lately and haven't been doing much, but its normally lower then this and i am generally healthy! Help please!! Blush

the 145 bit is high but the 60 is normal. 105bpm is fast too. I'd speak to your midwife or contact the pregnancy unit at the hospital if you arent feeling right.

Mummytobee2012 · 26/09/2012 19:19

Thank you, i've got a doctors appointment tomorrow :)

As you're 32 weeks you can contact the delivery unit at your hospital and run things past them. If your BP has gone up and you've a headache I think you could do with seeing somebody tonight tbh. Are your hands or feet puffy at all, swollen up?

Andromaca · 26/09/2012 19:25

if you usually have a lower blood pressure and it increases abruptly I will call the hospital or your midwife. Not to scare you but I had preeclampsia with DD at 30 weeks and the first signs were headaches and increased blood pressure

Mummytobee2012 · 26/09/2012 19:26

Ankles are slightly swollen, they ache and my legs feel heavy :/

Right well I think you need to see somebody. Is there anybody around who can give you a lift? Ring Delivery and tell them you're 32 weeks, feel unwell, took your BP (I assume you've a home monitor?) Tell them it's up and you've swelling in your legs and you would like to come in and be monitored for a bit. Don't take no for an answer btw. Baby moving around ok?

Mummytobee2012 · 26/09/2012 19:31

Yea home monitor, and erm my nan could? Hes been a bit less active but hes engaging and pushing down more.

Ok you need to ring them now and then you need to go to hospital. to be checked. Have you got your notes handy? That should have the phone number on.

Be sure to say that: baby isn't moving as much, you have a headache, your blood pressure is up, you have some ankle swelling, you feel unwell.

Take a book or something to do with you but call NOW.

Mummytobee2012 · 26/09/2012 19:44

Yea and the number is saved to my Blackberry. Okay, will do thank you!

Northernlurkerisbackatwork is absolutely right. Call them and insist to go there to be checked.

Northernlurker · 27/09/2012 20:31

How did you get on?

modifiedmum · 27/09/2012 20:33

How did it go? hope you saw someone, sometimes the electronic kits aren't reliable, i always took mine manually when i was pregnant and found it was super high and i ended up having pre eclampsia.

Mummytobee2012 · 21/10/2012 19:48

Sorry about the late reply, I was given some stockings to stop swelling :) They're not overly concerned!
