Tiredness - or am I overdoing it?

Today, i got up at half seven. Since then I've done 2 loads of laundry, emptied and reloaded the dishwasher, walked to town (10 mins) and back for 2 bags of shopping, and made blueberry and sultana muffins. I've eaten cereal, 2x wholemeal toast, a banana, a cheese and tomato pita and 2 muffins. Drunk 3x decaf coffee, o j and 2x squash.

Pre pregnancy, i was used to 9 hours solid sleep. Since conception I'm lucky to get 4 hours uninterrupted (this is my first pregnancy)

I'm on 3x305mg ferrous fumarate a day for mild anaemia.

I'm now shattered. Am i expecting too much of myself at 30+4, or is there something i can do to increase my energy levels? Diet is excellent as dp is in training (running London-Brighton next year, so serious training and utmost confidence in my nutrition!)

I'm 33 weeks and noticed a few weeks ago that I was tiring more easily than I usually would. I think it may be your body telling you to take it easy ... here, have a Brew and put yer feet up Grin

I really noticed that at certain points in my pregnancy I would get incredibly tired and then it would pass after a week or so. It sounds like your iron is being monitored well so I think just listen to your body. If you're tired take it easy. It'll hopefully pass soon and you'll get more energy.

I wouldn't say you were "expecting too much" per se, but just take each day as it comes and rest if you feel you need to.
I'm currently 35 weeks and on Saturday I had the energy to spend all day on my feet at a music festival, then stay up til the early hours partying with friends (who were all drinking, grrr). But yesterday, by contrast, I barely had the energy to walk up the stairs without feeling like I had to sit down.
In general, I feel like I've got barely 20 per cent of the energy I used to.

Each day's different, from my (albeit limited) experience. If I feel like I need to rest, I rest. If I've got the energy to do what I want to do, I do it.
If you're eating well and are on iron supplements already there's not much you can do aside from put your feet up, if that's what your body is demanding, and sleep when you can.

Thanks, i was worried - normally I'd have a list of jobs like that done by lunch, and another list for the afternoon! Will enjoy a Brew guilt free
