Hiya I'm new here and realy duno what to do here's my sitiation I'm 37 weeks today having a breach baby. I had a colostomy at birth which was reversed after 6 mnths and saw a consultant a while ago who looked at bump and said if I need a c section oits fine as my scar tissue is at my waist and nowhere near where they do the section. I'm now bein told that I realy shud have the ecv as my scar tissue is going to b in the way of c section and if I dnt I may end up with a hole in my bowell or bladder and need major surgery poss if I have the section. This I'm bein told by a young doc who hasn't even felt or looked at my bump and scar and I feel forced into this even tho she knows I dnt want it I'm booked in for wednesday and I'm realy worried and heard a lot of bad stuff about ecv .

Hi, I know 2 ladies who both had ecv, said it was a bit uncomfortable but fine but it Didn't work for them and both had planned sections. I think the bigger issue is you are not happy with the opinion given by the doctor you have recently seen. I would speak to your midwife and ask for another consult.x

If you don't want an ECG don't have one. They are not without risk and the success rate is limited.
If you saw a very young doc they are probably not a consultant. Phone the consultants secretary and explain your not happy with the advice you were given and would like to speak to the consultant ASAP, not a junior.
Sad to say, as I'm one of its employees, but in the nhs it's those who make a fuss that get the best treatment.
Good luck.
