Hi
Im 39 weeks pregnant and suffering from vertigo. I do have ear problems but the last two weeks I have hideous tinnitus and feel dizzy all the time. Im relying on family to take my other two children to and from school and my husband has just gone back to work today after being off with me since last friday.

I feel so ill I keep going the doctors crying but he wont give me anything I dont even know how I will deal with labour feeling like this :( I just want this awful dizziness to go and am hoping it will after the birth. The doctor said it may be the extra fluid or a surge in hormones all my other tests are 100% fine iron, BP etc

Has anyone had this Im scared and Im not coping

I'm sorry I do not have any advice, but I didn't want to read and run!

You said you have spoken to your doctor, but have you spoken to your MW?

Yes and they dont understand it at all I was under an ENT till last year but have no specialist now.

I just want to know why its so bad Im housebound with it x

Midwife seems like a good plan. I had an ear infection the week before I gave birth and couldn't stop being sick. It was awful. It did go away after a day or so (before the birth) - but my ears were still totally blocked for a while. It's very draining to have vertigo. Perhaps you can get a c-section, but definitely speak to the MW about it. Hope it gets better soon...

My friend has bad vertigo at times and cannot work or do anything. It's a recurring problem for her with the tinnitus. I don't think anyone would expect you to be anything but housebound with vertigo.

Thanks guys Im meant to be having a homebirth but would consider asking for them to deliver him sooner because Im suffering so much with this. Im so scared of going into labour like this spinning and in pain how horrendous :(
I seriously hate this Im relying on everyone to do stuff for me I managed to wash my hair yesterday for the first time in five days.

X

"I seriously hate this Im relying on everyone" - Don't!!! If they were having problems I am sure you would help them too :)

Is there no medication which is compatible with pregnancy? I know when my friend does it she is pretty much bedbound, let alone homebound. But it does always go away...I would try and get him delivered sooner.

Currently going thru the same exact experience. I had an vertigo attack a few days ago (worst experience of my life) everything was spinning non stop all day long. I stayed with my eyes closed for 2 days straight. And because of the dizziness I couldn’t stop throwing up. I’m just now starting to feel a little better. Still dizzy but definitely not as bad as that day, and I stopped throwing up🙏🏼 But I’m still weak , I’m so scared to go into labor like this. Tomorrow is my due date. So I’m hoping baby stays a little longer so I can get rid of this dizziness and gain my strength back.
May I ask did you ever feel better going into labor? How was it ?
