Could I be pregnant? Not TTC.

This time last week I felt very down, I always feel very down before I get my period so thought I knew what was going on. The next day there was a little blood, used a tampon but all very light.

My period can be quite unpredictable in that sometimes I get a few days of light before the heavy flow starts and sometimes I just get the heavy flow immediately. However, no heavy flow has materialised and now even light flow has stopped.

I am worried because I am not TTC but am in a relationship and have been having sex. We always use condoms and we haven't had any split ones in ages. I would have taken the morning after pill if I knew one had split. It has only just occurred to me that I might be pregnant, but won't be able to get to a chemist for another few days.

Other than that I wouldn't say I've had any other real symptoms - some weight gain (although I had two very large meals out last week so can't say I was surprised) and I was quite tired last week but seem to be feeling better now.

Any MN experts out there?? All opinions welcome.

No one here, or anywhere else can answer your question! You can't say if your pregnant or not based on anything other than a pregnancy test.

I know Londonmrss but I'm just panicking and wondering if there is a likely explanation for the weird non appearance of my period. Particularly since I haven't had any contraception accidents and since I can't get a test done until the weekend (will have to be a shop test).

Even a MN expert won't be able to tell if you're pregnant or not Grin only a pregnancy test can confirm that for certain. But with both of my pregnancies I've felt pre-menstrual before getting a BFP. And the light bleeding could be implanation bleeding. And if you've been having sex, pregnancy is always a possibility; no form of contraception is 100% effective. Tiredness and bloating could be symptoms too.

Of course it could just be your period playing silly buggers for some other reason. I'd recommend taking a test when you can though, unless your period turns up in the mean time.

Will take a test ASAP. Re contraception, I thought the failure rate of condoms related to the risk of them splitting. I thought if the condom didn't split, you were pretty safe?! I'm an educated 30 year old; have I been grossly misinformed all these years?

Read about implantation bleeding as you were writing your post Earnest, I think. Freaked me out some more! But thanks!
