Could this just be a stitch?

I am nearly 37 weeks, and since about 3pm (not long after eating a small microwave pizza) I have had the most painful stitch.

It feels identical to when I have had a stitch doing exercise: it is just inside my upper ribcage, at the tight hand side, front to back. Was almost in tears when walking, it was that bad. Feels ok when I'm laid on the sofa.

It is just a stitch, right?

I'm 27 weeks, and I get that when I walk, but lower down, by my hipbone. Same exact feeling as s stitch. Have a big glass of wine water and lie down a bit. I have been told by my doc that labor is all around the uterus, not localized. and labor pains come in waves. It could be something else, is kidlet pushing on something?

This is my first kid, so I can only tell you what I have been told! I worry over pains I get too!

It sounds like it might be rib tickling. Doesn't tickle though does it!

I think basically what happens is little one is stretching out and your ribs take the brunt of it. DS1 did this and it brought tears to my eyes, I could barely sit or stand.

I had a physio and i think it was her that showed me how to slowly stretch my arms out to the side and then lift them up over my head opening up my rib cage encouraging little one to move.

I had a terrible crippling stitch when I was walking back from the shops, it took me 30mins to do a 5 min walk ...... 4 hours later I went into labour Grin

Thanks all. Well that pain has gone now, after 3 hours. So my SPD pain has decided to kick in! What fun!
