DC2 feeling baby move at 14.5 weeks?

This morning I was lying in bed and could feel, with my hand and inside, what I thought was a kick, a few times in the same place over a 10 minute period. Surely I shouldn't be feeling this yet? With my first I had flutterings before any actual feeling from the outside. Now I can usually feel gas and such like moving around and initially thought it was that but it was in the same place. Anybody with subsequent pregnancies felt movement this early? It was 17 weeks until I realised with DS.

Is there a close age gap between this pregnancy and your DS?

I was pregnant with DS when DD was 4mths old, there is a 14mth age gap. I felt DS at 13wks, it was flutters but definitely him! At 17wks there were proper kicks! I think once you've had a baby you are more aware of what to 'feel', it's such an amazing feeling though :-)

I felt things much earlier second time round. My DH scoffed at me but I know what I felt. Firstly, you recognise the feeling and on the first pregnacy one doesn't have anyhing to compare it to. And secondly, the stomach muscles aren't as tight as they were on the first pregnancy so the feelings can be more easily felt.

I didnt feel anything till 22 weeks first time and this time thought I kept feeling the baby at 15 weeks, but dismissed it as me being silly. As they got stronger I realised it definitely had been the baby. I think you are more aware of what you are feeling.

Ostrich I was doing my best to ignore this was because of slack stomach muscles. Aaarggghhh.

Ha ha I just read my OP back and it sounds like I had my hand up there!!! No, my hand was on my bump and I meant I could feel the kick from the inside too! Well I've got a little excited now but just know what's to come later, I found being kicked comforting but then actually quite annoying in the late 3rd trimester, although the stretching was worse!

DS is 21 months so not a massive age gap but defo not a small one compared to yours Claire. Womb has been vacant for 18 months.

I felt ds2 kick at about 13 weeks. Couldn't believe it at first because I hadn't felt ds1 till about 20 weeks. Just like you, I was lying in bed all quiet and there was a flutter!

Could definitely be the baby.

I felt DS1 move at about 18 weeks, DS2 at around the 15 week mark and this time round (currently 21 weeks) I felt definite flutters around 12-13 weeks.

How early you can feel baby moving does depend on various things (your weight, for example, and the position of the placenta) but I think it is quite usual to feel second and subsequent babies move much earlier on in the pregnancy. I also wonder whether my increased sensitivity to it has been exacerbated by a couple of C sections although that may have nothing to do with it!

Either way, enjoy Smile I love baby kicks/wriggles.

I have lost nearly 2kg (last weight was 56kg at 12 weeks) since conception due to HG so it is all womb and baby there, and no muscle tone! I had VB with DS so not the case here.
