Not pleasant baby movements

27 weeks and last two weeks the movements the baby has been making have been quite unpleasant -can't remember dd doing anything similar. Big movements but all in small area - very low, centre, at front. They are not painful but do make grimace as they aren't nice. Should I be concerned?

I had that.

It was babies hands

She was back to back Confused

So long as baby is moving it doesn't sound like anything to worry about - just unpleasant! I am exactly the same - ds kicked a lot but it wasn't particularly painful, whereas this little girly (I'm 34+3) has been doing very uncomfortable twists and somersaults for weeks, getting worse. I am grimacing when she does her more dramatic movements too, and although I'm glad she's so active I do wish it wasn't so sore. I'm carrying smaller this pregnancy so I'm guessing she has less room in there and I'm feeling it more. Your baby could also just be in a different position currently to how your dd lay. Hope it gets a bit easier! x

If you are concerned you should see your MW or if you want/feel you should be seen more urgently call the delivery suite of where you are due to have baby. They may arrange for you to come in to be monitored. If u are concerned seek help from your maternity unit, that is what they are there for.

What did the midwife say wildpoppy

wildpoppy · 19/09/2012 17:52

She said head in right place and that seemed normal and that was probably just moving its hands a lot and is normal for it to not always be pleasant. Also normal for it all to be a bit lower in second pregnancy.

At least that's what I interpreted her "uh-huhs" and smiles as.

I had that too! Second pregnancy all the movements have been much lower down and some are NNgghhhhnnnn!

wkmmum · 19/09/2012 18:13

Second pregnancy here too and the majority of movements are low down as well. Baby's head down and me has said these movements are probably baby's hands.

Not particularly pleasant and this baby seems to have a habit of punching downwards. Really hard, very suddenly and literally straight downwards! Seriously - I think it's punching my cervix Hmm And sometimes it'll punch more towards the back iyswim Blush Makes me stop and go 'ow' but can't really explain to anyone else exactly why lol xx

wkmmum · 19/09/2012 18:14

Mw not me! xx

Crossandratty · 19/09/2012 19:52

I have this, it doesn't get any better! Am now 39 weeks and it still makes me feel sick. Baby is back to back...

soandsosmum · 19/09/2012 20:14

Yep I've been having this too. Second baby and very unlike movements with my first. mine is currently breech (29 weeks) and I can feel kicks or punches right in my cervix too :(

PogoBob · 19/09/2012 20:17

I'm coming up to 26 weeks and it often feels like DS is trying to stick his hand out of my bottom (TMI Blush). When not doing that he is trying to beat the hell out of my right hip.
