I'm not sure if this has been done before but for some reason I'm really worrying.

I'm only 6 weeks pregnant so hopefully got a very long way to go.
I had a rubbish pregnancy last time had hyperemersis (sp) and was on the drip in hospital 7 times. But had a very good labor. About 35 mins from when i realized what the pains were and dd was born.

But Im really worried that this time will be a longer labor.
Can this happen? I know people say every labor is different but has anyone had a 2nd labor longer than the 1st.?

You sound like you deserved a good labor after your first pregnancy.

My second delivery was about the same as my first. Both were fairly quick, although not as quick as yours. I think I labored for about 45 mins and pushed for about 30 - 45 mins. My second labour was technically longer I think, by about 15 mins as DC2's head was bigger so we slowed it down. It was however a much better experience, even though first time round wasn't bad, I just felt I knew what I was doing second time around and as a result was much more relaxed and in "control".

Thanks humblebumble, the midwife said the same.

I know what you mean about feeling in control and i am in a way thinking that i do know whats going to happen but am just stressing for no reason at all.

You are pregnant so worrying is part of the process. Grin As I remember it, giving birth was the easy bit ... well relative to the pain of negotiating with a 2 year old and 4 year old!

Congratulations by the way.
