Thought your appetite was supposed to decrease. If I could ram food in I would. Can't remember doing this with dd1. Thank God for Mumsnet!

When I was pregnant with DS I would happily have eaten all day and night :)

Put on nearly 5 stone though, most of it in the last 10-15 weeks Blush

WillYouDoTheFandango · 17/09/2012 09:51

Me, unfortunately. I'm 26 weeks too and after losing 9 lbs during the first trimester am averaging about 2 lbs a week gain for the second. But i get shaky and faint if I don't eat so what can you do? Sob, I don't want to be huge!

dontcarehow · 17/09/2012 10:10

I kind of wish I was eating loads! when did you start getting an appetite? because I'm 16 weeks and often have to force food down.

MB34 · 17/09/2012 11:37

I'm 32 weeks and haven't stopped eating since I became pregnant!

Eating in the first trimester stopped me feeling sick - I did go to Slimming World up until about 22 weeks and I'd put on about a stone up to that point. I dread to think what I weigh now!

I'm just enjoying food at the moment though - I'd been watching my weight for the last 10 years and I'm sure I'll go back to that once baby is here!

stowsettler · 17/09/2012 11:39

So far I've put on 1.5 stone and am only 18+5 Shock. Thankfully my ravenous hunger is subsiding a little bit now, but I'm expecting at least a 3st gain. I'm gutted and will have signed up to Weightwatchers online before leaving the hospital.

minipie · 17/09/2012 11:44

I've been eating for Britain throughout pregnancy so far (first trimester mainly carbs to ward off nausea, since then just hunger!) It did seem to reach a new level in about week 25/26. Now 28 weeks and still eating everything I can. Quite enjoying it actually Smile

Luckily I work in an office and food isn't readily available during the day, otherwise I'd be the size of a house. So I've only put on a stone (but I'm only 5'3 and v petite so that's quite a lot on my frame!).

Wuxiapian · 17/09/2012 12:11

I'm 23 weeks and have been munching nonstop (on everything) for the past 4ish weeks.

Have put on 10lbs thus far.

I have no willpower, damnit.

WillYouDoTheFandango · 17/09/2012 18:03

Dontcarehow I started to feel hunger again at 18 weeks. I had to ram food down and got told off by DP like a naughty school kid ever meal time before that! Gone the other way now, but sometimes I still struggle to eat much tea

TheBigRazzoo · 17/09/2012 18:11

31 weeks: have put on 2 stone 6 pounds thus far. Oops! Actually, I don't think I care any more...

xmasevebundle · 17/09/2012 22:01

This thread made me giggle! I thought i was insane!

Its this thing for domimeo's pizza, i crave it every fucking day. The smell the taste everything.

If DC dont have strong bones through all this chocolate milkshake im drinking! Had 3 pints YES 3 todayBlush

I also love big macs, coco cola(treat only)and fatty foods.

I am 26w and he is already 2lb! Blush

I have roughly put 6lbs on.

bangersmashandbeans · 17/09/2012 22:13

My theory is that this is my second and probably last pregnancy, I am 30 years old and if I live to the ripe old age of 80 I am likely to be on some sort of diet for the next 50 YEARS! I am therefore going to enjoy my food for the next 5 months!

Gingerpanther27 · 18/09/2012 02:05

Right now jelly beans have never tasted so good Grin baby is finally acquiring my sweet tooth hopefully they won't set my very precarious nausea off only 11 weeks and already struggling to see my feet when bloated and bump and that's with the boob expansion sorry tmi Blush feel like a whale already and I know it's gonna get a whole lot worse okay maybe the jelly beans don't agree after all. . . Wishful thinking much :(

Zara1984 · 18/09/2012 07:42

Nearly 35 weeks here and I'm still eating like crazy here! I'm hungry all the bloody time. Haven't needed to downsize the amount I eat either as I have no heartburn

DH says I eat like a racehorse crossed with a teenage boy. Grin

I think I've put on about 3 stone though Blush ... My face esp right now us quite pudgy.

Damned if I do, damned if I don't - if I cut down how much I eat I get cranky and bone-achingly tired, I literally can't do anything. I try to make sure everything I eat is as healthy as poss - lots of fruit, veg, eggs, milk, lean meat etc. Avoiding crisis etc but I've developed a bit of a chocolate/nutella addiction... Blush

Breakfast this morning was 6 fluffy pancakes with nutella, yoghurt with a banana & tinned peach half, decaf latte, glass of OJ and my vits Grin

Zara1984 · 18/09/2012 07:43

Oh and for those in the early stages - eating (particularly carbs eg bagels) was the only thing that kept my nausea at bay. Don't fight the urge, eat and you will feel better!!!

bangersmashandbeans · 18/09/2012 07:53

So true about eating to help that horrid sicky feeling! I've only just discovered nutella on pancakes - my DD requested it and I turned my nose up but then stupidly tasted it....oh my goodness - heaven!!

MB34 · 18/09/2012 08:01

Oh my, you've just got my taste buds going! I LOVE nutella on pancakes with banana, ice cream and golden syrup - yum yum. Guess what DH's making me for dinner!! lol!

newby2 · 18/09/2012 08:09

Oh ladies,

BRILLIANT!! Don't fight it, come on-confess! I have an Angel delight 2 packet a day habit at the moment (8 servings) Have just found out that Simon Cowell has similar, and he manages to keep his weight down so feeling ok about it.

I love the massive breakfasts people are having. Breakfast here is like feeding time at the zoo which is nothing compared to lunch. Yesterday I ransacked the co-op and ripped open the carrier bags to have 3 prawn crusty rolls and a large bag of sensations, followed by an apple (excuse me whilst I polish my halo) then had a man sized thai curry for dinner. The only thing that stopped the strawberry Angel Delight was the fact I was half way full and fell asleep early.

At 26 weeks have put on 1st 3lb which will rapidly turn into 3st 1 lb very soon I'd say.

I love the justifications from ladies on here about plenty of time to diet etc, especially the one about being on a diet before we're 80 so may as well eat what we like now. Very good reasoning.

This is like a confessional.

I have been eating like a horse but can't stop losing weight - every time I gain a bit I lose it plus some. I am now 16lbs under what I was when I got pg (though I was a size 18 when I got pg so not exactly wasting away!) and I am due tomorrow. I am ravenous but I figure I will be burning all I am eating up (or at least baby is).

Yesterday I had a bowl of granola for breakfast, an actimel, a banana, a shepherd's pie for lunch with a large bowl of plain yoghurt, 3 biscuits and a crunchie (oops), then had 1 1/2 pork chops for tea with dauphinoise potatoes, most of a bag of grapes and finished off the children's haribo (oops), way, way too much food! I don't know why I haven't exploded. On Sunday I ate a bag of satsumas in one sitting bar about 4 segments DD3 ate Blush
