Ok, this is probably nothing but I feel I need to share this with someone who is actually going to listen, as opposed to DH who's going to say "dunno"...

So I'm 38wks with DC2 and today I woke up early with slight back pain. Now I wouldn't say I'm in pain but my lower back and stomach feel really heavy/tensed and I feel a sort of dull pain in that area, which is relieved by me rocking.

I've had no show or anything apart from a lot of whit stuff down there in the last week.

I know it's my DC2 but I was induced with the first so I font know what to expect.

What do you reckon?

It could well be things getting moving, try and take it easy if you can and see if the pains get more intense and closer together.

I'm 38 weeks with DC4 and I still have no idea if every twinge and ache is the start of something even though I've done it three times, so you're not alone!

wannabedomesticgoddess · 16/09/2012 08:20

Could be the start of things or baby could just be pressing on something painful.

I would err on the side of caution though. Rest rest rest. Eat if you can. Have a nice bath etc. Good luck!

Baby is also moving a lot in there! For some reason, I thought they were more quiet before labour, although I'm not sure where we got that from.

We're supposed to go for a walk today, which means being 45min away from hospital. At the same don't really want to stay at home waiting (probably for nothing) for my body to twitch.

Turns out it was nothing, which suits me fine for now.

Went for a big walk in the woods and I had a few twinges at times but I think the pain was probably due to me sleeping funny last night...

Firstimeforeverything - any progress on your side?

Ooo i'm 39+5 today too. No sign of anything happening yet, it's my first and tbh i'm not really sure what i'm looking out for. I've had a few twinges, but not enough to make me think its labour starting. I'm in no rush just yet though, still quite comfortable and managing to sleep ok.

I wonder if mine will be nearer my original due date. Working out the dates from my last period the DD is 23rd Sep. But when i had the 12 week scan it was brought forward to the 18th. Who knows eh!

paperclips · 17/09/2012 12:03

We're at that stage where every little twinge, needing a good fart, gets us excited! I'm waitng too have had lots of braxton hicks type "tightenings" getting stronger, but that's been going on for over week now.

Over the last perhaps 4 days I keep getting a dull period pain type ache, but I think it might be more of a posture related muscular back-ache. Nothing happening. Last week baby's head was not engaged and doesn't feel any lower now despite walking and sitting on the ball. Due date is Wednesday but wouldn't be surprised if I'm waiting another 2 weeks!

whenhenshaveteeth · 18/09/2012 07:24

Well, I'm glad I'm not the only one scrutinising my body's every move!

Still no sign of anything for me apart from back pain in the morning but I'm determined to get this baby out before they start wanting to induce me. So it's walking/running with toddler, bouncing on the ball, more cleaning, pineapple, sex, curry, jasmine and clary sage from now on!

Saw MW yesterday: baby in position but only 1/5 engaged, although she did say it didn't mean anything with second babies.

Keep vacillating from being very gun-ho about the whole thing and then freaking out - I don't want to do the sleepless nights!!

Paperclips, your EDD is tomorrow, how exciting!!

FirstTime and Milkahorse, surely you're going to be the first?!

Ooo happy due date to me and firstTime

Still nothing happening here. Gonna go swimming and wander round town later, then have the mw at 4.

Gonna get on the pineapple too - a friend keeps telling me too, but i keep forgetting. Think we have some in the cupboard, and gonna buy some more in town. Should also get bouncing on my ball a bit more, but the bed/sofa are just too comfy. :)
