Enormous... and I mean huge...

And I am only 8 weeks. This is my 3rd pregnancy - the first being twins who were a combined weight of 13lb and our son weighed 10lb. Do you think is it normal to have a big bump at 8weeks?

I can also feel the uterus, which comes just below my tummy button. I'm not seeing the midwife until 10.5 weeks.... do I need to worry at all or do some people just look huge?!

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Are you absolutely certain of your dates? AFAIK, you can't feel the uterus til at least 13 weeks, so I'm thinking you're furthur on than you think, possibly out by a month

Definitely correct on dates - no doubt about it. I am 8 weeks +4

I would second are you sure on dates/ are you sure it's your uterus you can feel? AFAIK the reason your uterus can't be felt before 12/13 weeks is because it's behind your pubic bone so if it's just below your navel I would be guessing at a good few weeks on from that even! Do you mind if I ask how you are so sure of your dates?

I was huge, if it's any consolation. Even with first one. I went from size 10 to size 22 at 18 weeks. (Hate dull maternity clothes - just bought stuff in Evans). People were coming up to me in Jan saying 'when's it due?' and I was saying, 'End of July - now fuck off!'. Smile. Fourth baby I went from 10 stone to 15.7 stone Blush. And he weighed 10lb 4oz. Clearly I just stuffed my face to add the rest on. I wouldn't worry.

I am so sure of my dates. LMP on 15th July, tried 12-17 days later and bingo. After being 4 days late I had a positive pregnancy test. My uterus is slightly to the right and more pronounced when I need the loo. I am so sure. The consultant did say last time I was large for dates and sent me for a scan - but he meant 5 weeks big, I feel more like 10 weeks bigger. Worried it may be twins.....again.

Was your LMP a normal one?
You know your body though... Is it a possibility that it's twins again? Do they run in the family? Grin

LMP was totally normal. I guess I can only wait and see... as long as it isn't a sign of anything sinister I'll try not to worry... but twins again.... oh, I just couldn't.

ps Our twins are identical so apparently don't run in families... but my father is law is an identical twin too, possibly just co-incidence.

Why not phone your midwife, explain all the above and ask to see her briefly for a Pre-booking chat. She could have a proper feel of your abdomen. If your uterus is really just below your naval then I'm sure she'd organise a reassurance/ see if it's twins/ see if dates are wrong, scan.
Good luck, the waiting is terrible!
