I am 11 weeks pregnant I am bleeding but my cervix is closed. I have had a moderate amount of blood loss and cramps. I have a scan on Monday but I have to contact the hospital today to see if they can fit me in. I have had bloods taken as well. Has anyone been in similar situation ? I am just looking some advice

Hi I'm in hospital at the moment 11 weeks pregnant and like you bleeding but my cervix is closed and after numerous scans the baby is looking fine. (I have other medical issues which have led to the hospital thing) I also bled when pregnant with my ds who is fine I know how worrying it is. Sad I hope they can fit you in for a scan today.

Hi - I had mild bleed at 13 weeks. They couldn't find a cause but probably irritated cervix. Had to wait out a weekend for a scan on the Monday like you, all was fine.
Best thing to do is put your feet up for whole weekend - no lifting anything other than cup, knife and fork! Some ladies bleed right through whole pregnancy so try not to panic - easier said than done I know, but do try to relax and keep a note of any changes. HTH

Yes, I had a huge bleed at 12 weeks with cramping followed by 6 more weeks of continuous heavy bleeding from a haematoma. My cervix was also closed and baby was fine thankfully. Now 31 weeks. Good luck x

I had a phone call from the hospital. My blood test came back and I do not need to go for a repeat blood test on Saturday. I am sure if that is good news or bad news I am still cramping but my bleeding seem to be lighter

Lighter bleeding is good. Why were they taking bloods? Are u having a scan Monday?

PostmanPatsBlackandWhiteCat · 14/09/2012 12:21

They took bloods to see my hgc levels I'm not sure what else for. I have a scan on Monday so finger crossed

I had a heavy bleed at 15 weeks - so frightening. My cervix was closed and the scan was normal. The 'brown blood' continued for another 4 weeks or so but has stopped now.

20 week scan was fine. The sonographer spotted a patch on my uterus, which she thought may have been the source of the bleed.

But all is fine - baby wriggling lots at 23 weeks and I keep getting bigger.

It is very common apparently and there's nothing you can do to stop it. I'm sure you will be fine.

I dont like the cramps they worry me
I just want all this bleeding to go away .

I bled heavily at 8 and 10 weeks. Scans were normal, cervix closed. They blamed it on bruising in utero. It was terrifying but DS is now 18 months :))))

Postman - I hope everything is ok on Monday. For now go to bed and rest and as crazy as it sounds try not to worry too much. Think positive thoughts if you can, distract yourself with books or films and get lots of sleep. I really hope all is well. As you can see from the testimonials above it does happen and yet baby turns out to be fine. I empathise, I had a friday - oh sorry we can't scan you til Monday, situation and it nearly drove me mad with worry. all was well on the Monday though. Do look after yourself.

Thank you everyone for your kind thoughts.
Sadly Iwas admitted to hospital at the week end and I had a miscarriage.
I am too numb to think or feel I just cry. I just want this pain to go away. I feel as I am on a diffrent planet to anyone else.

I'm so sorry. I hope you have lots of love and support from your family.

theTramp · 17/09/2012 22:11

Postman - Oh I am so sorry to hear that. Take time to grieve and cry as much as you need to cry. It is going to be hard and it is going to hurt. I hope someone is there looking after you and I hope that you find some lightness to hold onto. x

Postman - I'm so sorry to read what you have been through. I have been there too and just wanted to suggest looking at the miscarriage boards when you feel ready as they really helped me.
Take care of yourself.
