12 week scan- CVS- TRI 13

I was wondering whether anyone had a similar experience. I went for a nuchal scan on tuesday and was not prepared for the outcome. The blood and all measurements came back as good however they found that the bladder was enlarged to 9.5 cm- I understand that the cut off point is 7cm. I was told that my chances are 1 out 10 for the child to have a chromosomal problem.

I had an agonising evening deciding whether to do the cvs with the risk of miscarriage and decided to go ahead with it the following day. I have got cramps today which I have been told are normal and am consistently checking to see if I have any bleeding. I am so tired by it all.

I keep thinking that all the results were fine apart from the bladder size but it is an agonising wait to find out if the baby has this. I am really really scared. Has anyone had the same kind of experience?

Hello, i was given a high risk of Edwards and patau due to my blood tests and a liver oddity. I had a cvs the day after and got the results about 4 days later. Thankfully all clear but the wait was hard. I wish you all the best of luck for your results, i would guess you will get these very soon? Have a look on the ante natal tests and choices board as there are other stories there which i ffind helpful.

Hi, I went through this last week, so I have vivid memories of what the wait is like. I was given a 1 in 12 risk for downs (my scan was fine but my blood tests very abnormal). As I am at kings in london, they did the cvs there and then, which was a bit of a head spinner, but at least it cut down the waiting time. This was last thursday, and I got the results on tues. Thankfully mine came back clear.

I really know how frightening and emotional that wait is, I couldn't bear to look at the scan pictures in case something bad happened. After falling apart for 2 days, I did manage to get through weekend (somehow it was better not expecting a phone call every minute) and kept very busy. I didn't think this would help, but it did. When I didn't hear on monday, I rang kings, and they did say that although they say 3 working days, it is often 4 or 5. And that the midwife usually rings at the end of the day. I found this helpful as waiting for the phone call every minute was so painful, and it meant I could control where I was and who I was with when the phone call came. Wishing you all the very best with your results.

I had a 1:10 after a large nuchal fold. Decided to have the CVS - had cramping for a day or two - it is normal. I also got the all clear of all syndromes after 2 weeks. The wait was awful just stay positive and take it easy. Remember it is still a 90% chance of everything being ok!

Thank you for your messages- I read them and cried. I got the call at 6pm today at Kings and everything is 99% certain to be ok. I was super overwhelmed and had to lie down after all the emotions.I hadn't used this site before and am so pleased I did. Thank you to all.
