So, was having a shower yesterday and washing my bits - getting all in there and having a good clean. I noticed on my inner labia something hanging from it. After the shower got the mirror out and had a look. It looks like a large skin tag - but more like a 'drip' of skin hanging from the inner labia. Its a little bit sore - not too bad though, doesnt look a different colour, just looks really odd. It must've have appeared pretty quickly too as i'm sure it wasnt there a few days before when i showered (had a cold shower the day before as the hot water had run out, so was an in and out job). From googling last night, skin tags are common in pregnancy. I will mention it to the midwife when i see her next week. I'm 39+1.

I'm not too woriried about it and if it gets sore i'll get in touch with the mw before next week. I was more wondering if anyone else has experienced this?

Not experienced this but I haven't really been looking out for it in that area! will have to have an inspection at some point...

I wrote a very similar post a week or so ago. Basically me and DH got down to business the other weekend and I found it pretty uncomfortable and things didn't feel quite right down there. Had a bit of a rummage in the bath and felt a flap of skin where there shouldn't be one. It's at the start of my perineum (close to vaginal entrance - sorry TMI Blush). Looks and feels like what you've described. I also googled and discovered skin tags are common in pregnancy and yes even down there. Pregnancy is so glam! I do feel quite tender around perineal area so thought best to get it checked out. Have made a docs appt for next week. Looking forward to spreading my legs NOT. I'm 35+3.

Thank god for Mumsnet hey! Not the kind of thing you feel you can drop into conversation with a mate.

I'm on my phone and being a bit thick as how to give link. Got about 4 responses, a couple suggested Vulval varicose vein but really don't think It's that. The title was TMI - what is this? Hoping it is just a skin tag, bit concerned about the soreness though but is in awkward place. Nice to know I'm not the only one with odd goings on down there! If It's feeling strange now I dread to think how I'll feel post birth.

This seems to have dissapeared now?? It went really thin and now seems to have dropped off completely. Very strange. It all looks ok down there now and dosent hurt at all. Think I'll still mention it to the mw on Tuesday though (unless baby comes before then - 39+5 today) Eeeek!!
