After giving birth i will be wanting a long soak in the hospital bath!! Can someone recommend me a really lovely indulgent bubble bath/wash and a lovely moisturiser for after i have had the baby?! i love my baths and spend most my time in it!! i know after giving birth it will be where i will spending most of the time Blush

Holding my baby! Just that really.... New borns are so tiny and fragile, I can't imagine being responsible for one, but I can't wait.

elvislives2012 · 12/09/2012 08:03

Being able to get up off the sofa/ turning over in bed without having to make all sorts of noises to do it!!

lightrain · 12/09/2012 08:13

A few foods I noticed on here that its perfectly fine to eat in pg now...

Peanuts are okay to eat, unless you or close family member are allergic.

Rare steak okay, as long as seared well on outside and is one piece of meat (ie. steak fine, but rare hamburger made from mince not okay, it's the outside where the bugs are)

Some pasturised blue cheeses okay now, check NHS website

Prawns and seafood are fine, provided they are cooked. Raw oysters for example would not be okay, but cooked prawns are fine.

Happy eating!

booflebean · 12/09/2012 08:29

I've been eating all the foods mentioned above anyway!

I'm looking forward to:

-that newborn smell
-cuddles in bed for the first week
-sleeping on my back/front
-getting up easier
-picking things off the floor easier
-losing baby weight
-getting my wardrobe back
-no acid reflux at night
-hearing 22m DS say baby's name for first time and giving her a kiss :)

HappySurfWidow · 12/09/2012 09:13

Lightrain here in France they tell pregnant women not to eat rare steak or any undercooked meat as it can contain the Toxoplasmosis parasite or its cysts and this can cause all sorts of horrific things to an unborn.

I'm currently going through a nightmarish time with this issue and can honestly say it's not worth putting your baby at risk for a bit of food!!

Sosmum · 12/09/2012 09:19

Oh my goodness - I didn't realise I had so many..........

Non elephant type sex, being able to choose what to wear from more than 5 t shirts, two pairs of leggings and a pair of jeans! Not having fat feet, eating brie, not having heartburn, not having trapped wind. Oh the effort it takes to get up off the sofa, roll over in bed, bend down, walk!!!

And of course..............meeting our boy for the first time, seeing DP face when we have him, dc's faces when they met him for the time. Baby smell and dressing a baby agaib - I love baby grows!!!! 8 WEEKS TO GO!!!

BoysBoysBoysAndMe · 12/09/2012 09:22

-wine
-pâté
-decent anti pasti
-losing weight
-being able to move faster than a slug
-snuggling with newborn
-wearing nice clothes

Third baby so realistic about all of it really.

sammyleh · 12/09/2012 09:25

Poached eggs, Brie and Wine!
Also looking forward to wearing nice things again, have just about worn out every stretchy item in my wardrobe and I'm dying to use a zip again. Most of all looking forward to taking baby out in buggy without panting and shaking like a shitting dog after 5 minutes pounding the pavement!

Londonmrss · 12/09/2012 09:46

Being able to put my socks on
Being able to do a nice poo without straining

glendathegoodwitch · 12/09/2012 09:50

I always crave liver and bacon when pregnant so a lovely homemade dinner of that washed down with a large glass of white zinfandel.

also looking forward to having some energy, having something to do other than sitting watching the wright show while trying to knit squares for a blanket - cuddles with baby and taking her out and about.

cant wait for a holiday abroad!!

NattyCraig · 12/09/2012 09:50

32+6 today.

I am looking forward to snuggles with my baby and hubby and us being a family,
sleeping on my front,
not being in chronic pain in my fanjo bone / back / hips whenever I move in bed / walk / get up,
Being able to eat meat that is not totally "well done"
Blue cheese
Skinny jeans that are not maternity jeans,
fitting into my beautiful clothes again
sky high heels (although not when holding baby as I am out of practice)
Sex without having to negotiate around my belly.

Ahhhhh not long to go... :)

PurplePidjin · 12/09/2012 10:01

The baby, obviously...

My mum is under instructions to bring a nice crisp prosecco with her to wet the baby's head at the first visit Blush

Not feeling shattered half way through doing something. Not getting indigestion every time i bend. Dp being able to take more of an active role - at the moment it's all about me and this is our child.

Skoggy · 12/09/2012 10:10

I'm looking forward to being able to move around properly, getting to the gym, soft cheeses, cider... oh a nice glass of Swedish cider! Slurp! Being able to roll around on the floor playing with DD1 and, ofcourse, meeting and holding DD2. I would say sleeping on my front but, like so many ladies... damn boobs!!! Smile

ShushBaby · 12/09/2012 13:48

The baby
My daughter being a big sister
Maternity leave

But also:

Wine
Smoked salmon
Rare steak
Sleeping on my back
Cuddling up in bed
Normal sex
Getting fit

Rachel130690 · 12/09/2012 14:00

purplecatti my Oh is the same, can't have sex incase it hurts/scares the baby. I could slap him for being stupid but at the same time I'm not sure I could cope :)

Other than meeting my beautiful baby I'm really looking forward to buying new jeans and actually fitting my clothes :)

mrswoz · 12/09/2012 14:17

I am most looking forward to:

Brie

Using my new pram Grin

Knowing that unless we win the lottery, this is very likely to be the last time I will be pregnant/do birth/newborn issues! (disclaimer - as I type that, it sounds insincere and I am not convinced!)

Going for a run (this could be as late as Christmas time tho, as am ELCS)

Seeing DD & DS faces' light up when they meet their new sister for the first time

Having at least one child who stays where you put her and doesn't answer back!

12 days to go! Grin

oscarwilde · 12/09/2012 14:30

Not being ready for bed again by the time I've expended so much effort lugged my ass out of bed, through the shower and gotten dressed. Grin

Have had a really hectic pregnancy so I'm actually really looking forward to the first couple of months quality sofa time while BF'ing. I'm hoping to be much more organised the second time around so I can do the whole "sleep when they sleep" thing occasionally at least.

minipie · 12/09/2012 15:22

Rare steak

Gin and tonic

Being thin (this happens immediately, right? Grin)

Watching all the box sets I've been saving for BFing

Oh and yeah the baby obviously Blush

steben · 12/09/2012 15:33

Sleeping on my back

More than one glass of wine and a g and t

Pâté

Wearing a bra with underwire

Being able to walk properly again (f'ing SPD Angry)

steben · 12/09/2012 15:34

Oh and not needing to go for a bloody wee ten times per hour Angry

LadyMaryCrawley · 12/09/2012 15:59

the baby

sleeping on my back

losing weight

not having to go to work

knowing everything - Mums know everything, right? Grin

LadyMaryCrawley · 12/09/2012 16:01
