I hope I'm allowed to post this, apologies if I'm not.
I have taken the below from the C&W website.
Patient and Public representatives on the Council of Governors at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital have launched a petition in support of the "Safe in our hands" campaign to keep A&E and other vital services such as Maternity and Paediatrics at Chelsea and Westminster.
The Governors are elected by Foundation Trust members - patients, their carers and members of the public who have chosen to become members of the hospital to represent their interests and to ensure that the voice of those who rely on the hospital's services is heard.
The petition is sponsored by 13 Governors who are calling for Chelsea and Westminster to retain its status as a major hospital with a full A&E Department, as recommended by the Shaping a healthier future public consultation about changes to NHS services in North West London.
The Governors warn: "If Chelsea and Westminster Hospital is downgraded to a local hospital without a full A&E department, it would also loose its maternity and many other services, including children's, and its future would be under threat."
Go to you.38degrees.org.uk/p/cwaepetition to sign the Governors' petition to keep A&E and other life-saving services at Chelsea and Westminster.
Signing the petition is just one of the ways in which you can support the "Safe in our hands" campaign, you can also:
^Complete the public consultation response form voting for Option A to keep A&E at Chelsea and Westminster ? a weblink to the online response form and suggested answers to complete the form in support of Chelsea and Westminster are available at www.chelwest.nhs.uk/safeinourhands^
Tick the box voting for Option A on a "Safe in our hands" campaign postcard hard copies are available from Main Reception at Chelsea and Westminster or you can complete an online postcard at www.chelwest.nhs.uk/safeinourhands/support-the-campaign/your-vote-counts
I don't work for the NHS, or C&W or have any involvment in the "safe in our hands" campaign. I just think it would be tragic if C&W are downgraded to a 'local hospital' and they lose their Maternity Services & their A&E dept.
