Can Braxton Hicks feel like painful heartburn?

Feeling a bit dodgy anyway today, so could be nothing.

But bump just went rock hard for about a minute, and it felt like really bad heartburn and twinges in lower back. Is it just a worsening of my heartburn that I'm already suffering with, or could it be Braxton Hicks?

I never had natural contractions with DDs 1&2 so not sure.

How many weeks are you? Yes, bump suddenly going hard for a short time is what a Braxton Hicks feels like. Heartburn will give you pain behind the sternum or in the upper abdomen but won't give you a hard bump. Straining a ligament might make your bump feel hard too - I occasionally get that when I get out of bed too quickly to go settle ds. It is acutely painful though whereas BH aren't painful, just feel a bit odd or a little uncomfortable at most.

Thanks for the reply

I'm almost 36 weeks. Only had one tightening though. Must have just had a worsening of the heartburn at the same time.

I've been getting braxton hicks since week 16. I've never had any pain with them they're just annoying! I did get pain with them with dd at about 35 weeks but it was like early labour pains.
