Right. I need to talk boobs.

I was under the impression that I could expect them to go up a cup size or two when my milk comes in.

Yet, I went to NCT breast feeding lesson yesterday, and the teacher said that my boobs will stay the same size as they are now.

Really?

I was planning to get some nursing bras and want to be sure that I can use my current size.

It depends, I think it is one of those things that may be true for most but not for all. I don't get big pregnancy boobs, in fact in this pregnancy they have shrunk as I stopped feeding DS when I was 4 months.

I had sleep bras from mother care which come in dress sizes and then went shopping when DS was about a week or so old.

Mine went down a back size (back to normal - well, I am a 30/32 and they were back to a 32, after being 34 in pregnancy) and up a cup size from the end of pregnancy. This are what I was told to buy after trying some bras on in Peter Jones at week 37/38. And they were right as that was the right size. However, I am not sure if that is necessarily true for everyone. How about getting a few bravissimo/emma jane/carriwell seamless soft bras (v comfy too - I have some for this time) as each size covers several sizes, and they grow with you, seeing how you get on with BF/size and then you could always order some proper ones after a week or so?

I have a feeling that if I had BF for longer (stopped actual BF after a week due to various problems, but expressed for a further 3) they may have settled down and done back down a cup size (or two). But I don't know! When my milk came in they didn't even fit the nursing bras - they were like balloons for a few hours until I managed to feed...

Mine were a 36f through pregnancy and when my milk came in they were visible from space! Oh my actual god! I bought a h cup nursing bra, which really helped and stayed that size till I stopped a year later, when they dropped to a v v flat e cup.
