Hello Ladies

Hopefully one of you will be able to reassure me. I got a BFP last Wednesday after having a missed miscarriage in April (IVF). I was so happy. On Thursday my hubby and I left on holiday and we are on a tropical island now and I've lost all my symptoms (I felt a little hot, nauseous and a little bit dizzy. I also had some mild cramping). Now I don't have any of the mentioned symptoms and I'm freaking out. I'm not bleeding so is it possible to have a missed miscarriage so early in the pregnancy? One strange symptom i had a couple of days ago was a feeling of pressure in the uterous almost as if i had a tampon stuck there (sorry TMO but dont know how else to explain it). Unfortunately I can't do a pregnancy test as there are none to buy here :(

Your thoughts would be much appreciated!

I would try and relax, my symptoms came and went right at the beginning until about 7 weeks when morning sickness hit! But then I lost all my symptoms around about ten weeks and booked myself in for a private scan, which showed all was fine - Thankfully.

I did have a MMC in the past and I didn't have any symptoms form the start really.

I hope everything works out for you. I hated the first trimester and I'm only starting to relax a bit now that I'm 18 weeks.

Pregnancy is HARD after any MC, just take good care of yourself.

My symptoms come & go like crazy, I had a lot of dizziness very early on (4-5 weeks) which my doctor put partly because my blood pressure was low & instructed me to stand up slower and partly as lacking iron so I started taking a vitamin that included iron and I felt a billion times better. So maybe on holiday you are taking it more easy / eating better and that is why you feel better? I'm only 8+6 now though, so no expert.

Thank you so much for your reply. I'm panicking so much as I'm so far away from home and I can't even do a pregnancy test! Returning home on Friday so will feel calmer then. I'm supposed to be enjoying this holiday and instead I'm just panicking :(

hello Anya,

i really feel for you as i have had 2 MMC's i have no advice i'm afraid except that doing a pregnancy test is unlikely to help as your hormone levels will still be high and the test should come back positive regardless.

However with both my MC's i still had pregnancy symptoms throughout up until a few days after the op so loss of symptoms isn't always an indicator. in fact i went up the wall a few months ago because i suddenly felt really well and "normal", i was sure that it meant something bad. i completely panicked about it but the next day i was back to feeling really rough and wishing that i had made the most of that evening where i felt ok.

the early days are unpredicatable, there are so amny weird feelings, pains and cramps that you can drive yourself crazy second guessing every thing. maybe it is realaxing on holiday that has helped you feel better?

there's no point in telling you not to panic becasue if you're anything like me you will anyway but things will get easier as your pregnancy progresses, you'll start to feel a bit more secure.

good luck and please let us know how you get on xx

I'm crossing my fingers for you. Personally I had so few symptoms at 5 weeks I didn't even twig I was pregnant. Not everyone has text book symptoms.

That said I was doing a fitness training thing at the time, so had the most perfect balanced diet, no blood sugar slumps and regular exercise. All of those help reduce sickness.

Weird pressure in the uterus sounds normal.

Good luck

You have calmed me down :)

Hello

Just wondered how you were getting on? x

CityDweller · 13/09/2012 17:35

My symptoms (nausea and exhaustion) went away when I was on hols at 10 wks. Put it down to being relaxed and not having to cook. Came back when I got home though.

Hello InchyInchy

Sorry, I've only now noticed your message. I'm back from holiday now and my boobs are slightly sore and I do feel tired and go to bed really early these days. I feel a little nauseous also. I saw my GP today and asked for an early scan. She said that because I had a missed miscarriage early this year it will be reassuring for me to have one so I'm just waiting for a call from the early pregnancy unit now. I'm sooooo nervous :(
