I don't know if I can take any more. I still feel sick on and off though is much better since about 20 weeks. (Thank GOD)

But now it is very hard to walk far, my pelvis is going in two different directions, I get BH every time I do anything remotely like exercise, I am an ambling wreck in constant minor achy type pain (moan moan) and I look enormous.

I just mowed HALF the lawn. I ask you. And had to sit down for like, three hours. I'm rubbish Blush

How on earth do you keep going, and survive when you are even bigger than this?? It is my third so I ought to know, but tbh I was this size at about 8 months with the others. It is not normal!!!

Have you been checked for excess fluid? I had my own postcode when I was pregnant with Dd because of the very same problem!

Also are you sure you've not got SPD?

EdMcDunnough · 09/09/2012 17:28

Oh crikey. Really?

Well I don't know tbh. I had a scan a few weeks ago and she said it all looked fine - I think it's probably just my stomach muscles don't work any more Blush

I think it is a similar thing to SPD, though God knows people have it worse. I am just feeling old, and tired and very sore. Ignore me Smile

You mowed half the lawn? God, well done you. I'm 19 weeks and wouldn't even consider pushing a lawnmower. Even pushing the trolley round the supermarket requires a rest when I get back.

I say stuff the lawn, and look after yourself. Because you're looking after the baby and that's hard work :)

EdMcDunnough · 09/09/2012 17:34

Smile thankyou for being so kind. Sadly lawn was getting well out of hand and is no one else to do it - have already had to ask agents to send someone to cut the 12 foot hedge for me as I can't do it this year!!! I would be so ashamed to have a jungle for a lawn as well...

I am with you on the trolley thing though. Man, they are heavy going!

I keep thinking, it' not long to go but another four months of getting even larger and more pathetic, well it's unthinkable! I'm not just expanding forwards...bump is large but pretty neat. My backside is now rubenesque as well. I have had to stop with the jeans and go for a skirt for the first time in yonks, just to try and disguise my S shaped figure!

Try and get a referral to an physio or see an Osteopath. A lot of pains can be treated or at least managed.

Also pregnancy yoga!!

EdMcDunnough · 09/09/2012 17:50

Oh I didn't know I was bad enough to get referred - thankyou! I will see what I can find out from GP.

I'm sure it's just normal run of the mill aches and pains - nothing to fuss about - I am just a big wuss Smile

Please don't hate me for saying this but the idea of any sort of exercise, or anything involving lying down and trying to get up again, makes me wince - I get braxton hicks when I just walk down the road, and if I sit on the sofa for too long, it feels like my legs are not attached to my body when I get up!

So I'm not entirely sure I could even cope with yoga [bluah]

If it's any consolation I was huuuuge when I was pregnant with DS from week 3 when I was already bloated. I wanted to eat everything in sight and couldn't be bothered to do any exercise as it was too painful/tiring. When I got to 30 weeks + I was no fatter than I was when pregnant with DD.
This time I'm nowhere near as big (two preschoolers to run around after) but pushing a buggy uphill, trolleys, even the vacuum cleaner are not very comfortable for me (23 weeks).
Try and take it easy (I know, I know!) and all the best for the rest of your pregnancy.

femmeaufoyer · 09/09/2012 18:24

I'm with you, 26 weeks and a feel huge! I'm constantly uncomfortable, my bumps always in the way and I'm always out of breath. It's my second and I wasn't like this until the last few weeks with my first pregnancy. I'm actually feeling tearful today at the thought that I've got another 3 months of this....and it'll get worse!!

I'm trying to take it easy but life goes on and I hate feeling debilitated.

No more kids after this one!

fridakahlo · 09/09/2012 18:35

Like Poche, with my second pregnancy, I was huge very early on but by the end I was smaller than I had been with my first.
I also suffered spd in.both pregnancies but used acupuncture very sucessfully to manage it during my second.

Spuddybean · 09/09/2012 19:47

I was also huge very early (and this is my 1st so fuck knows what the next will be like). People kept asking if it was twins. Everyone was convinced i had my dates wrong and were sure i would be a month early. But after 29 weeks i just plateaued and have only put on 3lbs since then. I am now 40+12 and being induced tomo - so much for fecking early! And i have been mowing the lawn in 3 stages since about 34 wks :)

noblegiraffe · 09/09/2012 19:49

I'm going to pay someone to mow the lawn next week Blush

Spuddybean · 09/09/2012 19:55

if i thought it would bring on labour i would mow all of your lawns!

bumponboardagain · 09/09/2012 19:59

I feel your pain op! I'm 18 wks pregnant with my 3rd and I'm massive Shock Saw MIL today and she said "wow your bumps growing, are you sure its not
twins?" Hmm
My abdominal muscles are screwed though from previous two pregnancies (both big babies) and they've separated again so everything is poking out :(

abigboydidit · 09/09/2012 20:00

With both my DCs I get huuuuge very quick and then sort of stay the same until about 8 months (when I've caught up with where I should be!) & take another growth spurt. If one more person does a Shock face when I tell them I'm only 21 weeks I may be forced to injure them..

PeshwariNaan · 09/09/2012 22:33

This is my first baby and I bloated up immediately. I had a bump at 10 weeks. I'm 5 months and look about 7 months! I've just had a scan and they say the fluid level is normal and baby is normal sized - no idea why I'm so huge. I've gained 3 kg so not too bad weightwise - I just look gigantic. Scared of how big I'll be in 4 months...!

EdMcDunnough · 10/09/2012 09:51

Thankyou all so much for posting. I feel a lot better knowing I'm not the only one.
I'm interested that some of you have kind of levelled out towards the end - that's really great if it can happen. Someone said to me today, 'nice neat bump!' and actually there's not much weight on the front of me at all, it is fairly neat, but my lower half is another story. I seem to have put on more weight there than anywhere else.

Sorry for those of you who are also suffering. Bump, I have a small hernia where my belly button is, which is embarrassing especially when people start feeling my bump, and realise it's sticking out already. I got it from lifting ds1 when I was very pregnant with ds2, and I'm worried it will get worse - nothing as weird as feeling like your insides are going to fall out is there Sad

I hope your muscles don't get any worse. Are you thinking about having them repaired after this baby? I'm thinking about having mine sorted out and just praying the gap doesn't get much bigger but I am expecting it to tbh.

OP posts:
Badgerina · 10/09/2012 12:25

I got big very quickly this time (2nd pregnancy) but my bump is now the same size roughly as with DS1, and my arse is certainly smaller Grin Don't worry. And as for mowing the lawn, you're some kind of super-hero!

p.s the pelvic pain is deffo worth mentioning. Get a referral now, as it tends to get worse as pregnancy progresses. Worth sorting it out tbh Smile

EdMcDunnough · 10/09/2012 14:17

Thankyou very much Thanks

Hi, just signing in as another "where did THAT come from" person.

I'm 27 weeks, people seem shocked when I tell them my due date as they were expecting it to be sooner ... "Is it twins?" - nope. "Second baby?" -nope. No excuse, I really am just large. My mum was the same apparently.

I am a small person (5'3 and size 8 pre pregnancy) so perhaps there is just nowhere for the bean to grow except outwards...

Aches and pains not too bad so far but have had some stabby rib pain in the night and also some back pain recently. Fingers crossed that it doesn't get worse Sad

nananaps · 10/09/2012 17:23

Another Hippo signing in here!

I am huge too, get breathless, back ache almost constantly, aching everywhere.
Cant do too much without resting.
Just emptied the washing machine and had to sit down!
But im old as well as hippo sized.

Sympathies my lovely, you are over halfway there now. Chin up chuck xxxxx

Pochemuchka · 10/09/2012 17:31

The breathlessness! Can't believe I didn't mention it too.
I am like a wheezing old woman after the easiest of tasks!

HappySurfWidow · 10/09/2012 17:34

Another whale saying hullo here!

5 months gone and I swear I'm the same as I was last time at 8 months! My tummy is so tight and stretched I don't know how it's going to keep growing for another 3+ months!! I didn't get stretchmarks last time, but I'm sure I will this time!! I've got three oils and numerous body creams on the go in the hope my skin will cope!...

Sending you all many best wishes for the rest of your pregnancies!! May our massive bumps turn into healthy, happy babies!!

nananaps · 10/09/2012 17:37

midwife says its normal to be breathless and wheezy, dont need nhalers or the like.

I feel 90 years old Sad

DinosaursOnASpaceship · 10/09/2012 18:09

I have the opposite problem - I'm 20 weeks with dc4 and don't have a bump at all. It is odd, I don't look at all pregnant and I haven't felt any movement - I feel very detached from this pregnancy and I think this is why. But, reading your posts I am quite glad as I think I've forgotten how uncomfortable it is to be big.
