Hi, over last few days I feel like my bump is smaller ???? And not getting up in night for as many wees (presumed opposite would happen), only got up once last night. ALso sleeping better and lower back that has been hurting for last 6/7 weeks doesn't seem to hurt.
Worried this isn't normal! Just don't feel like baby is going to come out!

Baby is moving same but it doesn't really move alot and movements r more like waves and stretches than kicks if that makes sense.

Get lots of bh but they aren't painful.

Just worried that things feel like they're going backwards!
Anyone feel same?

I don't have any advice, I'm afraid, but I've been feeling the same, am 38+2. I haven't seen my midwife for 2 1/2 weeks, but convinced that my bump has shrunk! The baby was starting to engage, so I guess that that could affect the fundal height. I've not been having as many wees either, but I think that I've been a bit dehydrated with the hot weather!

Hi I had my dd 2.5 weeks ago and just to say I experienced a similar thing when the babys head engaged. My bump 'dropped' and was much lower I didn't get out of breath so much and there was less pressure on my bladder. Also the baby movements changed a bit as she was quite squashed in so it was more like pushing and stretching then big kicks. Checked with midwife and she said all was normal. Don't be surprised if your fundal height seems to have dropped or not increased as much as normal as this is also due to the baby moving down. If ever you are concerned about movements though always contact your midwife it's always better to be safe than sorry

Tickle, that's exactly how my baby's movements have felt like during the last week.

Congratulations on your DD!

Hiya, so i have been having regular growth scans as i have gestational diabetes, at one point my fundal height was measuring 2 weeks ahead, so 36 at 34 but now i am 38+4 and still measuring 36, the sonographer says as soon as baby head engages fundal height changes, so that could be why?

Thanks, its just reassuring to know people feel same. I always worry about movements but would def get them checked if they were fewer. Seem to be gettin more worried as days go by....

My bump totally changed shape when she 'dropped' Looked much smaller to me from above but when I looked in the mirror it was obviously much lower. Happened over night and my DH noticed straight away too. Could be this.

Hi moogs my bump has been consistently measuring slightly ahead the whole way through and baby free. 38+1 yesterday - now measuring 36 and baby engaging so it must be something to do with the baby dropping. I've been getting growth scans and she is average size so I know it's not a growth thing. I wouldn't be able to tell if my actual bump has dropped as I've been carrying low the whole way through.

I've also noticed I'm only up 1/2 times a night going to the loo the last week, before it was 6-8 times.

Movements she isn't as kicky, more stretching and squirming going on in there. I also find I'm not noticing the movements as much - mainly because I'm sort of used to them and I'm just finishing the extreme 'nesting' mode so been occupied. A glass of cold coke or hot tea later and she makes herself known again.

yes as PP have said the bump "drops" when baby engages, from your perspective will look smaller but from others will appear lower. Baby moving down will remove pressure on ribs and upper organs. Baby does a lot of growing in these final weeks in terms of gaining weight and so as you get closer to EDD it becomes more cramped in there. Movements will stop being kicks and turning around and will mainly be stretches. Right towards the end I had some sci-fi type moments where you could see baby's hand dragging across my bump - you could literally see the shape of the hand!! All perfectly normal and a sign that you dont have long to go.
