Too much on my plate

I know there is little anyone can do, but sometimes ranting to people who can relate helps.
I'm 17wks+5, just moved house, just started new job, just got 2 kittens, planning a wedding and fiance hasn't moved in yet as he's in the army and there's been a few hiccups. It's my brother's birthday tomorrow and he passed away at 2 weeks old and my birthday on Sunday. Now I am pregnant and feeling the baby moving, I can understand more about how my mum must have felt.
I am also struggling to get hold of midwife here, I get no answer at the hospital and doctors receptionist keeps telling me to wait for the midwife to ring me (as house move has meant doctors change).
I am feeling very stressed, am on my own as fiance is away with the army and won't be back till early hours of Sunday morning. I am dreading my brother's birthday tomorrow and am already very weepy about it.
Sorry for the rant - but I have no friends around me (due to the move), and somethings only pregnant woman can relate to!
Thanks for "listening"
xxxx

Very sorry to hear of your brother, I hope the other more positive sounding happenings in your life currently can help lessen the pain.
I wish a speedy return for your fiancé! That's certainly something to look forward too!
Congrats on the pregnancy and the new job!

Whenever I feel like things are getting too much, I always try and think to myself that this time next week, or next month, or tomorrow, my emotions will have shifted and things will seem different...better, even. I have 2 cats and to be honest if it wasn't for them I couldn't have coped as well during my pregnancy. I get so much comfort from them and they make me smile. Try and think of the time when you won't be feeling so sad...it will come. Sorry you're going through such a tough time. It will pass I promise xxx

Oh freya, no wonder you're feeling stressed, that's a horrendous amount to have on your plate. So sorry to hear about your brother - can you give your mum a call and talk it through with her?

Try to take it easy today - PG plus new job plus new house is a combination of the most stressful possible life events, and when you add grief you're doing really, really well just to even vaguely cope.

Can you give yourself a day off? Snuggle up on sofa with kittens, biscuits/choc and a box set of something you've seen a million times and love? Even half a day? I know it must feel like you don't have time to with the new house but you sound like someone who needs a duvet day. X

Thanks everyone! Feeling more positive today. Midwife came over and i got to hear the baby's heartbeat and my fiancé is on his way home, although he won't be back till 3 or 4 am!!
It's so nice to know there's a place I can get a bit of extra support!
Hearing the heartbeat certainly made me feel better knowing my little one is strong!
Thanks again xxx

Just wanted to say its good to read that you are feeling happier today! Moving during pregnancy is bad enough (I moved at about 33w, I just sat in my doctors waiting room until someone did something effective Grin) let alone with the rest of the stuff you are dealing with. MN is great for coming on for a whine and a de-stress. Hope you have a lovely time now your fiance is back.

So glad you're feeling better today and your fiancé is coming home - so he'll be there in time for your birthday as well? Have a wonderful birthday and enjoy having him home! x
