Advice on a bleed

Hi.

I am almost 7 weeks pregnant (I hope). At five weeks I had a bleed over the course of an hour or two. It was red as opposed to the pinky implantation bleeding I had in my last pregnancy and there was a bit of clotting. I also had a cramp or two.

Nothing since - except a bit of browny discharge the next day. The early pregnancy unit at the hospital on the day said to retest in a week. I did - and the test had 'moved on' by a week as we'd used a fancy digital one which tells you how many weeks pregnant you are.

Also I've been feeling soooooooooo sick. Far worse than last time. So nauseous and off food.

I was just wondering if anyone had experiences of a bleed early on and then found out at their scan that all wasn't well? And did you still have the morning sickness in between?

I've had an early bleed end up both ways, with this pregnancy I had a bleed around about 5/6 weeks and everything is fine so far - 18 weeks today.

I would think that having strong symptoms is good, but I'd move away from the digital tests, those predictor things can be notoriously unreliable and may cause you more stress than necessary.

Are the EPU going to have you in for a scan? I had a scan at 6 and 8 weeks, it was so reassuring to see the heart beat and check everything was where it should be.

I hated the first trimester, there really is very little you can do other than wait and see what happens.

I hope it all works out! x

Thanks for the replies :) I've phoned EPU and rather annoyingly they're saying they absolutely can't scan me until 8 weeks. Never mind. I have an appointment for a week on Monday so by then we'll know.
