SPD and coccyx pain

Hi all,

I've been suffering from SPD since week 12.

I find sitting on my work chair causes lots of coccyx pain. My backside is still sore from work and I'm lying on my side.

I have a coccyx cushion but was wondering what you have done to relieve the pain or make things more comfy.

Many thanks xxx

i don't know what SPD stands for so I can't comment on that! But I get pain in my pubic bone, especially after walking or standing a long time. My Dr said she could fit me for a support belt which might help.

Perhaps talk to someone about back exercises? Perhaps you are sitting funny trying to balance and it's putting pressure on the coccyx, plus the relaxing of the ligaments.

Can you get a different chair?

I don't have any remedies, I never expected this sort of pain, myself! And I'm ony 25 weeks!

Hi,

I had the same and found sitting on a big birthing/yoga ball helped. I had to sign something from HR but they were fine with it. It wasn't ideal though as it didn't support my back but switching between the ball and my chair was the best solution.

Hopefully it won't last the whole of your pregnancy, it did go somewhere around 30 weeks ish for me.

Good luck and congratulations!
