last night I googled breech babies, big mistake as there were horror stories and pics of babies with their legs up around their heads and shit like that. Stories where babies had to have legs in splints and casts and stuff cos their legs are so used to being upwards. Terrified now!!!

Anyone with any reassuring (or not) frank breech stories? I'm having c section on weds and I'm scared of how baby's legs will be when he or she comes out...

Also are there any other problems associated with frank breech babies?

Thanks xxx

My dd1 was breech from 25 weeks and never turned, she was/is fine, she had to have a hip scan at 6 weeks but I think that is the norm, she was practically bent in half looked uncomfortable on the scan haha you will be fine

My dd was born by EMCS because she was undiagnosed breech - although in hindsight I reckon she'd been that way round for most of my pregnancy. There was a moment during delivery when the anaesthetist's hand came down suddenly on the top of my bump to help push her head down but other than that I think all was 'normal' when she was born. She had a hip scan at 6 weeks, which didn't seem to bother her at all. She's 6 now and I can't keep up with her! Good luck and try not to be scared by Google! Wink

Thanks guys for your replies. Reassuring. I dunno I just have nightmares about what baby will look like ... I have horrific images of she/he being really weird and with defects and stuff. It's haunted me for months and months! Can't get it out of my head. It's horrible. I feel so shallow admitting it, of course all that really matters is that baby is healthy and breathing. But I can't help it...it keeps me awake at night. And the images on google last night have been etched into my brain now. It's just awful...
