Ready to pop and want baby OUT!!!

38 weeks today, and am really ready to have this baby! I know that realistically I could have almost another 4 weeks of feeling like this, but just want it sooner rather than later. I feel that all I am doing is cleaning the house, as I don't want to go into labour with a messy house (especially as I'm planning a home birth). DD3 arrived at 38+3, so all through this pregnancy, I've been expecting the same, or even a bit earlier, and I know that I'm putting too much pressure on myself to have the baby soon. I know that I'm being silly, and that the baby will arrive when it's ready, but each day now feels about a week long!

41+3 days today :( it's induction day and I have to be in hospital for 6AM! grrr stupid bloody early start which means I've had shit all sleep, two and a half hours tops. I'm lying in bed waiting for alarm to go off so I can force myself outta bed and into shower, and I want to sleep. :(

Although hoping for a quick labour and delivery today. Eeek getting to meet my baby soon :)

Good luck - hope everything happens as you want Grin

I'm just coming up to 39 weeks. Nothing much happening... Feeling a LOT better now that stupid heat wave has finished - whose idea was that?? I'm very hormonal - very grumpy, but at least the end is in sight! Sort of...

funchum sweeps are ok - they're not pleasant, but they're not that bad either. Hopefully it'll do the trick! Grin

Good luck Rachel, and funchum, sweeps are not the most pleasant thing you'll ever experience, but try to stay relaxed (practice some in through the nose out though the mouth breathing) and it will be fine.

Good luck today, Rachel! Hope to hear good news from you soon.

I feel a bit of a fraud complaining here when so many of you are 40 weeks +, but I'm seriously fed up now. Growth scan on Tuesday revealed not only is baby small(ish), but I'm low on fluid as well, so they want me back once a week for a scan and to put my on a CTG. Told to watch out of changes or reduction in movements and go straight back if there are any... Then told they've found protein in my wee sample so I should also watch out for swelling, flashing lights and headaches. I'm 37+3 now, and constantly stressing about whether she's moving enough and checking my feet for swelling. I'm hoping they'll induce me sooner rather than later because I'm just getting rather miserable and can't stop worrying now.

Hope everyone is doing ok :)

Good luck Rachel - gosh you might potentially have had baby by now if it went REALLY quickly....I hope it is all going really well either way.

CaptainHetty hopefully you'll ward off any further problems but I can see it will be a pain traipsing in and out every week, especially if the hospital is a way away. But at least you'll get to know the baby is definitely OK. Fingers crossed for you.

I am up after sleeping til 11am, having not got to sleep til about 3am. I mustn't complain too much as I do feel quite a lot better but if I am going to sleep from 3 til 11 every day I'm not going to be in a particularly good state when baby arrives! Having said that at least I'm getting used to being up and about at night which is bound to happen a lot once baby arrives....EDD is a week today!

Good luck everyone for the next few days and weeks of aches, pains, moans and groans and BABIES!

I had to come back and report after my Monday moan above...
HE IS OUT!!
And labour truly sucks.
I started having pains when reading DDs bedtime story Monday night, went into local unit at 3.30am (was already 6cm dilated after spending hours wondering if they were 'proper' labour pains!) and had him at 7.12am Tuesday morning. 8lb 4.5oz.
Keep the faith ladies, it was so sudden from nothing to out, it will be you!!

Badgerina · 13/09/2012 13:04

peerie Yay! Sounds like you had a very straightforward labour - congratulations!

Excellent news peerie and I hope things are going well rachel.

I am waiting for a phone call to say what time I can go in and be induced. Trying not to lose the plot! You'd think that after all this waiting I'd be better at it!

Congratulations, peerie!

Funchum, I'm suffering from insomnia too. I can get to sleep ok, but keep waking at 2 or 3 am, then can't get back to sleep for a couple of hours. It's no joke, is it!

Congratulations peerie! Fantastic news! Grin

Rachel hope it's all going well for you and you get those special newborn snuggles today!

How is everyone else? I was so glad this morning when I saw it was overcast and chilly but clouds have now gone and it's baking hot again, I'm holed up in my bedroom fussing about with DD's toy boxes and making pointless adjustments to the baby's things just to keep me busy. Have been having trouble getting to sleep at night but funding it really difficult to nap during the day too, hopefully just slobbing about a bit will count as rest so I won't get too exhausted.

Has anyone else been given induction dates yet? I think mine will be the week after next but am crossing fingers we won't need to go that far again. My lower back has been twinging a lot since yesterday & the BH are still going but trying not to read too much into it.

Hope all you ladies are keeping sane, not long to go for any of us now :)

Congratulations Peerie, very jealous that you're getting to snuggle with your newborn.

I refused an induction date yesterday at my term appointment as I really really want to avoid induction and don't want a date hanging over my head. Will get my community midwife to make one if needs be when I see her next week.

Also suffering from insomnia, need to try and get a nap soon before I pick DS up from nursery.

Congrats Peerie!! Fantastic news!

Well I'm 3cm according to my Ob this morning, booked in for an induction on Monday if nothing happens before then. No contractions that I can feel except irregular ones that I'm sure are just BH. So tired after spending half the night in the loo, pregnancy is so glam...

Congratulations peerie!

No news here, just been to see Anna Karenina to pass the time. It was OK if you like that sort of thing...

moomin it sounds like between the two of us we get a GREAT night's sleep - my problem is that I can't drop off til about 2 or 3am! Bit better last night, I think I went to sleep before midnight.

Another lady in my NCT group gave birth at 10am today though, so that's 2 out of 8 of us...I am convinced I am going to be last now!

Really fed up now. Was having what I thought were contractions earlier so thought it was all kicking off but nothing. Just really uncomfortable, fed up & can't sleep.

Congrats & Envy to everyone who has their baby.

Congratulations Rachel.

I saw your post in childbirth Hels, had similar happen earlier and now very clearly awake! Have been telling everyone I don't think baby will arrive this weekend, in an attempt at appearing calm and relaxed about the whole thing, the one time in my life I don't want to be right!

Went to see friends newborn earlier, she's totally gorgeous, was hoping she'd encourage the wee man to come out, but no. Have to say it was very strange to hold such a small baby compared to my 2 stone toddler, it's been less than two years and I think I've already forgotten how to look after such a small baby.

Ah congratulations Rachel it's worth it all once your little one is finally out and in your arms isn't it :)

mrsv2 hope your induction is going well, come back and let us know!

I had a surprisingly good nights sleep last night for once, which beat the night before when I gave up trying and ran a bath at 1am instead! Due on Monday and trying to organise party for DD who is 2 on Thursday so today is balloon and party bag shopping, I'm trying the 'carry on and forget about it' approach in the hope I can kid myself I'm not getting ridiculously impatient!

Congrats all if you too! My friend had hers last night. I had a sweep yesterday and had cramps and pink gloop all night but I doubt anything will happen.

Get oot!!!
