Snap, crackle and pop! What the dickens is baby doing in there?!

Am 31 weeks and have been hearing the strangest sounds coming from my bump! The most frequent are little snapping sounds or pops! Did think I was imagining it but I just heard it again!
Sounds like someone cracking their knuckles or something. First pregnancy had none of this.
Anyone familiar with this?

Just read on another thread that it could be bubbles in the amniotic fluid popping. Weird!

Hiccups?? Both mins had them, you could sw my whole bump moving sometimes!!

I had this with dd, she was making the clicking noise with her tongue. She kept doing it until she was a few weeks old.

Thanks for your input. Glad to know I'm not the only one! Have done some Internet searches but there's no unanimous opinion.
Some said as per your messages, bubbles in amniotic fluid, some said it was baby's joints, others said maybe it's a dolphin...hmmm...

I just find it odd that I never had it with Dc1. Whatever it is, all who reported it delivered happy, healthy babies so I'm going to relax a bit more about it anyway!

I had that too with both mine, it was a definite click or pop, didn't seem like it could be bubbles popping (and anyway, how would there be air in there?) it sounded like when your knee or knuckles click! weird.

I've been experiencing this too!! This is dc2 and I never had it with my first pregnancy. I am 36 weeks and Whenever baby has a large movement I hear a definite clicking noise!! It happens about once a day. I asked midwife about it and she looked at me as tho I was nuts and said its probably coming from my pelvis!! The sound is coming from the top of my bump tho, nowhere near my pelvis!

That's precisely the sound...because DC1 didn't do this I thought maybe it was my diet or something. But the only thing I consumed first time round and not this time was orange Fanta...was addicted to the stuff.
Also had no hiccups with this one where as DC1 was always hiccuping!

Wait, what now? Bumps make noises!?
