Im probably being paranoid and feel free to slap me with a wet fish .... Coming up to 11 weeks with dc2, no previous miscarriages etc and have developed right sided pain. It's in a specific spot and not like period style cramping pain, feels more muscular. Sort of coming and going in waves. Kind of feels like I need to do a big poo or fart (sorry tmi, but I've had lots of constipation). I don't have the Nhs scan until 13 weeks annoyingly. No bleeding. Do you think I should be getting this checked out?
I think it might be worse because I'm worrying now!

I think it might be your ligaments. Or something stretching - as you say, muscular.

I think you'll probably be told it's normal and not to worry, if you ring up.

If it gets a lot worse, then definitely have it checked but I'm thinking more appendicitis etc if you see what I mean.

It is normal to get a lot of weirdy pains, I've had some kind of severe abdominal pain during all of my three pregnancies and each time gone to be seen by someone, and found it was nothing interesting...quite disappointing in a way, and embarrassing!

that said I have never had any bleeding and I think if you did that would make it worth being seen for.

Hope it goes away soon x

Neverme, my dates or the same as yours and I am having similar. Comes and goes, sometimes feel it when I stand up, definitely feels muscular, not too intense, but not too pleasant. I reckon round ligament pain and various stretching. I think I vaguely remember similar with DD. Let's keep an eye on it, eh? :)

Ok dont laugh..but, when was the last time you had a poo?
I have this even now at 19 weeks...go for a poo and it eases it.
Bit bunged up with the pregnacare tho have to admit.

had this with both pregnancies- if you can, go for a walk- should help if it is round ligament pain (which would be right given your dates) and would also help if it is gas or poo. Pregnancy is nothing but glam :)

Thanks all.
Constipation is better since I started drinking coffee ( had to stop as it made me feel sick) but bowels aren't quite right
It does feel better if I walk about, just sitting down makes it worse (it came on this morning when I was on the train). I've had various stomach cramps in this pregnancy and the last one and my test is whether I need to take painkillers - which I feel on the verge of needing today for the first time.
Think I am feeling quite hormonal and potentially weepy today which doesn't help either!
Right walk and coffee coming on at lunchtime!

My bowels are also not quite right, and I'm 22 weeks now - I'm resigned to it!

just as a thought, have you heard of Spatone - it's a natural iron supplement, it comes in sachets of rusty tasting water which are quite nice when taken with orange juice. It gets your iron levels up really fast and doesn't constipate you at all.

I took it with dc2 and mine went from 8/9ish up to nearly 10 in a few weeks. (so I could have my homebirth)

I got a bit addicted to it.

Hi Edith yes I have spatone. Annoying since I didn't really have constipation issues with dc1 in pregnancy ( only after birth and that's a whole other story!). Am wondering if I'm somehow super sensitive to iron

I had this. Can remember having it on Xmas day, just as you describe, and ds was born in June so must have been about the same stage as you. I had it for a week or two and then it passed. Always on the same side. After endless googling i came to the conclusion it was ligament pain. Hope it feels better soon Smile
