Hiya hope someone can help

I'm 26+4 and all of a sudden tonight I started getting chest pains, sore hen I breathe in, sit up straight etc even when I lie own it's sore. Almost feels like someone is sitting on my chest and the pain is also round the back. This hasn't been the easiest of pregnancies with having spd and on crutches but this is a new pain which is worrying me sounds silly but don't want to call mw as feels anytime I contact them I am a nuisance

Has anyone else experienced this?

Phone maternity unit now.
Or A&E.
Are you short of breath?
Risk of blood clots in lungs is raised in pregnsncy.

Might be noyhing. Might be something. Get it checked.

3littlefrogs · 03/09/2012 21:09

Just dial 999 now.

Better a false alarm than ignoring serious symptoms.

Severe, crushing chest pain could be serious.

NimpyWindowMash · 03/09/2012 21:09

Go straight to A&E. You can't mess with chest pain. You are not being a nuisance.

ninjanurse · 03/09/2012 21:09

I would go to A&E straight away and get checked. Dont take any chances with chest pain.

MainlyMaynie · 03/09/2012 21:10

Call 999.

Norem · 03/09/2012 21:11

Hospital now .

Eggrules · 03/09/2012 21:12

Go to A&E

jamboncru · 03/09/2012 21:13

Please please please seek medical help. The poster who mentioned blood clots is absolutely correct - the risk is increased in pregnancy and whilst it is unlikely, the symptoms you describe would make me worry. Even if it absolutely nothing you are far better to be checked out. Go to a&e xx

speckledpig · 03/09/2012 21:14

A and E . I had a DVT just after pregnancy - high risk, very dangerous.
Get it checked out Now.

TwllBach · 03/09/2012 21:15

Is it constant pain op? Whatever it is, go to AandE, but I wonder of it is costochondritis? I have it and when it first came on the pain was unbelievable and unbearable. I read that pregnant women can suffer from it too. Whatever it is, you have to go to A and E, you know that xx

CouvelaireHair · 03/09/2012 21:15

Go to A&E and get checked. Hopefully it will just be heartburn and nothing serious.

GobblersKnob · 03/09/2012 21:17

Go to A&E as no-one on here can diagnose you and you can't mess around with chest pain.

That said it is quite likely to be heartburn which I feel in exactly that way and much worse during pregnancy, so don't panic, I'm sure you are fine.

But please go and get a medical person to tell you so.

CaptainHetty · 03/09/2012 21:17

Don't for one second worry about being a nuisance. It might be something, it might be nothing - either way they'll be glad you went to get it checked out. Phone the hospital or go to a&e tonight x

speckledpig · 03/09/2012 21:19

Ok love, take it easy and please let us know how you get on x

speckledpig · 03/09/2012 21:20

I think you having been on crutches is also a cause for concern as the leg must have been immobile for a while. Best of luck.

lauraloo09 · 03/09/2012 23:23

Just back from hospital and everything is ok they done an ecg hwhich came back fine, said the pain likely down to indigestion so thankful its nothing worse. Thank you again for your replies :)

Thanks for letting us know and soooo glad you are fine. x all the best with the rest of the pregnancy. x

GobblersKnob · 04/09/2012 07:48

Glad to hear all is hunky dory laura, hope you go a good night sleep.

Pregnacy indegestion can be awful. I spent the last few months of both my pregnancies thinking I was about to have a heart attack. Pink Gaviscon is better than the normal one and the liquid is way better than the tablets, though it did used to make me gag, yuck.

osaenlondres · 04/09/2012 09:06

Had similar pains, turned out to be oesophagus spasms/heartburn (but without reflux). Suffered from about 15 weeks, in the end got prescribed omeprazole which helped.

Norem · 04/09/2012 15:43

Glad you are ok if it's heartburn love hearts are fab :)

Eggrules · 04/09/2012 17:03

Phew.

I had DVT and PE and you can't be too careful. If you are worried go to hospital.

I also had the worst heartburn ever; much worse when I was pregnant than before or since. Hope you feel better soon.
