Urine sample

Hey, I'm 24+3
I had my midwife appt last Thursday and she tested my urine as normal. She found sugar in my sample and said she would send it away for further analysis.
She asked me to call my docs today to get the results and, if there was any infection present, pick up a prescription.
I called mid morning to be told that my results were back but hadn't been viewed by my doc yet and to call back later. I called back later - 5pm to be told that doc hadn't checked results yet and to call in the morning.

I guess my question is, is everything ok? It's like 5 days since my original sample and surely if there is anything wrong I need to get it sorted for baby's sake.

I have a GTT booked for 1.10 and my other question is... Is there an issue with waiting another month or so if the mw has found sugar in my urine now?

I'm confused and just want bubs to be ok.

Please help, thanks x

Sugar in urine means you may have GD but it isn't a given by any means. I have GD but never have sugar in my urine and vice versa. By all means keep chasing the results but they are unlikely to move your GTT. It has to be done at certain weeks if gestation because that changes the limits on the acceptable blood sugar result. The main risks for GD are in the final trimester and during labour and straight after birth so as long as you are less than 30 weeks when your GTT is booked it should be fine. Your 20 weeks scan would show a big abdominal measurement if baby was already experiencing high blood sugar.
